yeah i think these little hitches are only rated to 5k or something - but who the hell actually tows 6k+ pounds with their GX?

i'm sure it is worth something in scrap at least :D

I have no clue, but it's the factory hitch and was an option of the Tow Prep Package as I understand it.

for sure. not knocking you or the truck at all - just thinking about how heavy 3500 feels behind these things i couldnt imagine getting anywhere near the max rating haha so these smaller hitches rated for less are plenty IMO

Just talked to a guy on Reddit who ran it in his FJ and he said it was just freshly graded?

Just crawled underneath again and it looks like the hitch mounts from underneath as opposed to from the rear like the one in the link you posted. Also, all of the air suspension shit is still back there and will be in the way of cutting the bumper. Can I rip all that shit out with no ill effects? I've been on coils for a while.

gotcha. no idea about the air suspension stuff. i want to say there are also 4 tapped holes on the rear of the bumper under the plastic that this bolts to, but i'm not a 470 expert (i have a 460). just looked quickly at some threads about this online and it seems like some 470 guys are using 4runner hitches

It wasn’t bad. 6500lbs hauled it from Montana to Atlanta going 55mph getting 9-10mpg

It’s a lot better pulling it behind my 1-ton Chevy though getting the same mpg going 70-75mph.

Correct, there are threaded holes in the cross member...

    20220615_173602.jpg

It's also how the Coastal hitch mounts as well...
