The first one, I think, would be better as just a tool box once you remove the organizer stuff. I haven't seen one in person, but a dude was using it on YouTubes and he had quite a bit of stuff in it. I don't think the Home Depot pictures depict the size very well. Heck, at $25 get multiples. They stack. Although it doesn't look like they latch together like the bigger stuff.

I may drop by HD this weekend and pick one or more up. I'll take pictures of it filled with stuff if I do.

I've got both of those. Small parts sorter is dedicated to all the fasteners, washers, etc.

They are 100% water and dust proof, so far as my testing and leaving out in the rain.

I use the small box first posted, along with the roller and large box, for skid steer and it's trailer gear. The small one to hold extra 3/8 adapter and spare 14mm socket for the speed binders, I also store a grease zerk purge kit along with a small bottle of WD-40 for clearing stuck zerks. I also have a rachet strap, a few rags, a spare tube of grease, a few sharpies and a flashlight in there. I only use one of the divider inserts.

The large box holds wheel chocks and chains, bottom wheeled bin holds all four speed binders and either a 3rd or 4th chain (depending on what attachments I haul, or if I'm hauling logs, etc.)...and based on the tools @EatSleepTacos has provided I think two smalls or a large one would be needed.

I can do a side by side of the Apache case vs. the small and large rigid boxes...just let me know.

Edit: after thought Randy might have cut down on tool volume/capacity with his CO2 tank and any pneumatic tools that replaced battery powered ones..

I have 3 of them and They latch to each other. Also have the mid size with no wheels. Both have a little weight to ‘em, but nothing crazy.

I use them for other stuff tho, not the toolbox.

Yup, small and medium boxes (the roller box is with my tree service guy aka loaned him 2 chains and binders) earlier with a HF Apache 4800 box on top.

I'll try to get some photos of the top box with items in it and then do the same items in the Apache if that helps.

This is a Plano, box I got from Cabelas a few years ago. Thin, Has holes to lock it or what ever on the sides at the handles. Water tight… probably not if laying on it’s side or up side down. Setting like it’s supposed too, yes.

So you don't use standard hand tools, huh?!?

I think the box of gloves size is standard regardless if they're xl or sm...but yes I failed to do the similar items in the Apache 4800 vs. Ridgid small box...perhaps I'll just see how many rulers I can pack in them...should suffice, or perhaps fit some NIST?!:D

This is as close as I got before I had to do Dad/household stuff...so just for you, here's the dissimilar content comparison (aka what was sitting in them) and on top of that they're distorted/not on the same plane!!20220615_185844.jpg

    Enjoy!

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I'm in Ashburn for work through the end of the day, then work from home. If we can meet up today, I can grab it and take it or at least get it to Mark.

1500. I could meet you in the same parking lot we met at last time. Or walk out if you get here sooner.
