Cooler and less humid today
All we got from last evening storm was a lot of rain. The TV news showed a map of power outages. All the counties around us have power outages and damages, except ours.

Cats are entertaining and and there’s those times when they look at you like they are plotting your death. And it might be that I’m a little messed up but I like the little thug types that shove stuff off the table and seem to try to be a pain in the ass.
This is mr. Magoo he’s my shop cat. He loves shorts season he rubs around your ankles a couple times and then the bastard bites your ankle. He’s in the middle of everything you do in the shop and will let you pet him in moderation but you need to know when to quit or you’re bleeding! He’s a fun cat!!

 

Our local president recently was promoted by the university so now he is in another local and had to resign his office. After fourteen years as treasurer, I finally stepped up to fill his vacancy as president of our local. Today is my first labor and management meeting leading local. Wish me luck!

The plant I work announced 1 year ago that an addition was going to built. With all the new machines it would double the number of machines I take care of. I asked if I'd be getting help. I got the classic deer in the headlights look. I said give me someone now so I can start training them now, nope. The new building is up and machines are being setup now. Not expecting someone new until September. Kinda hard to train someone when your work load keeps you buried.
Then again what the hell do I know?
Only been working there almost 28 years.
Seen it all, good times and bad times.

Good morning everyone! Another hot one in Michigan today. I think they said 90*+. Yesterday hit 98*.

My company is doing the same. They're laying off some of us long term employees that get paid more (me on 6/30 after 17.5 years) and not replacing some of the people that leave on their own. Any new people they are hiring are coming in at lower pay. They think they can run just as efficiently with fewer, less experienced employees and just have some people work more hours to make everything up. Crazy chit.
