Does the 2" leveling kit STILL cause the vibration in the newer 3rd Gens?

I am about to buy a 2022 SR DblCab 4x4. I have a had a few 3rd Gen Tacomas in the past. They were too little to be my stand alone truck so I got rid of them. I now am in a good place financially and have a '22 Ram 2500 for whatever I need a full size for, and am getting the SR for daily driver and to save miles on the Ram. Plus, I just love the Tacomas and missed mine ever since I traded. Anyway, to my question... I installed a couple 2" leveling kits on a past Tacoma I had and it resulted in the slightest ever vibration in the gas pedal and steering wheel. Is this still an issue on the '22s?

Yup. Every leveling kit does this still. Most dealers stock the ECGS bushing now.

I couldn't remember the name of that bushing, Thanks! And I was afraid they probably still did this. And that bushing install totally fixes it???

To be clear, it doesn't matter if it's a top-space coil spacer, or 5100s set on a clip for lift or whatever, you still get the vubration???

I vote NO. But there are good leveling kits and better leveling kits I have the Bilsteins kits no issues (6112 & 5160) 2019 Tacoma TRD.
My sons 2016 Tacoma TRD , no issues with is 4600 Bilstein 2 inch leveling kit.

Yes, we've yet to have any complaints after installing it. Including my own 3rd gen way back when.

SR's lift really high in the front with leveling kits, so either get a F 2" R 1" or a F 3" R2". It's because they weigh less.

5100's are way less likely to vibrate, the geometry is more relaxed, but they don't sit as high unless you max them.

Maxed 5100's ride worse than spacer lifts in my opinion.

I am surprised to read ,the above person mentions everyone get vibrations? I never notice any. The ride is firmer, better then before.

I do get “Very Good Vibrations “ driving my Tacoma. Lol.

Lots of people just accept it. It's a vibration that you feel in your foot. It's mainly with spacer lifts, not coil overs.

It goes away in 4WD, it drove me nuts. It used to be random with 2nd gens, but 99% of 3rd gens get it after spacer lifts. Severity varies.

I seen guys do a water vibrations test of before and after. Cup of water in the bottle holder.

    Does firmer means more vibrations?

Strain on the axle due to lift causes it.

The drivers axle is designed to kind of float in place when not under load. When lifted it cranks down and forces pressure on the needle bearing unevenly.

It's a weird vibration that is cyclical and as I mentioned, you feel in your foot.

I never felt it in my foot, nor do I notice any vibrations. I did do a diff drop kit, sway bar relocation kit, a rear drive shaft drop kit.

We got bad roads and highways. This I feel as I drive.

Sensitivity, some people can feel more vibrations then others.
I must be in immune to it?
Some people have great hearing and good eyes. “ Well that is what I heard and saw?”

The type of lift doesn't matter when it comes to the needle bearing vibe. Its the different angle of the CV that causes it.
A 2 inch spacer lift or a 2 inch lift from $2000 king coil overs will cause the same vibe.

Its a roll of the dice if you will get it. My 2ng gen had the vibe right after installing 5100s at 1.85 inches of lift. Some 3rd gens will get it with a 1 inch lift and some won't get it after a 3 inch lift.

You wont feel it anywhere else except for the footwell area. it feels like a vibrating cell phone. vibe, stop, vibe, stop while driving.

Again, thanks for all the info and answering my question. I will at the most probably just do a 1" on the front and a size bigger tire. If I get the vibe, I can remove it easy enough...

Any type of lift. I got a vibration with a 2" leveling spacer. Installed the ECGS bushing right away as cheap insurance. I am now on 5100's.

Didn't cause any vibes in my '21 when I lifted about 2.5". Have since lowered the front to about 1.5" lift because the downtravel sucked (as did the strain on the axle boots), but did not have any vibes.

If you get a vibe, ECGS is the way to go up front. Might need a shim or carrier bearing drop in the rear if you lift over 1". I'm ~1.5" lift in the rear with the ARB FK29 carrier drop - depends on the vibes you get.

Thank you guys, guessing some do and some don’t.

Just like my rear brakes locks up, especially after car wash or driving though wet conditions. And some during “cold weather. Four times to Toyota dealer. Happens when you first start up or drive a few feet. No solutions found.
Kinda like the draw of straws? Lol

Now to find “Why my phone vibrates”. UM? Smile….

I'm surprised people even consider spacer lifts on a $30-40K truck. Sooooo ghetto!

Do yourself a favour and get some Bilstein 5100s up front. They're even bigger and better than the stock O.R. Bilstein's. You get can get your 1" or 2" proper lift, and not lose your stock ride.

Oh, and you'll love 265/75/16 or bigger tires...

Tacoma - not enough T4R - too much
same - was on RC spacers, and happened. now on 5100s just get the 5100s they're so much better. (hate to be that guy, but truly every bump in the road feels 100x less harsh than it did with spacers)
