Ever had the Blade and Bow before, and do you know about the numbered keys?

Yep, I’m a fan. This’ll only be my second bottle though. Key 5, I have key 4. Three to go!

I’ve read reviews and I’m on the fence. The key thing is just childish enough to draw me in.

Im drinking Blade and Bow again tonight…. This is about my 6th pour of the bottle i got just a few days ago. I’ve been very pleasantly surprised. It’s VERY light and fresh to me. Citrus, tastes very bright if that can be a thing. I think it’s because it’s quite a bit lower proof than I normally go for. So far I have Key 3 but I can see myself getting a few more. It’s a buy in my book.

Except you have to go to the distillery to get the glass, at least if you live in my state.

    Hmph. Maybe I’ll try one.

If you live in NC why in the hell haven’t you already been to KY? Hell I live in NY and I’ve been a few times lol. It’s worth it.

I was in talks with buddies about going this summer but we couldn’t get the schedules aligned. Possibly this fall or next year. Or I’m dragging the wife. She’s been enjoying some of the bourbons I’ve been trying.

Well, I went into the tiny Ocracoke, NC store today given it’s delivery day, and they got several bottles of Blade and Bow. Seemed like fate.

The barrel it sits on is a 1792 single barrel that the region picked and parceled out. How cool that they have the barrel.

That’s just motivation to go to Kentucky and hit some distilleries. If you haven’t been yet it’s a fun trip. I’m near Charlotte so it’s about 6 hours for me, a lot further for you coming from OBX.

Oof, that’s quite a ways especially with these gas prices.

Anyone ever tried this? Sounds interesting but at that price I wasn’t sure so I passed it up today. They only got 1 in.

Yes I have a bottle of it. Haven’t cracked it yet but the reviews are positive. I think I paid $130-ish. If you’re REALLY considering it maybe I’ll crack it open tonight.

What a nice bourbon. Smooth, excellent flavor. Everyone in the vacation crew likes it.

We have no rocks glasses so we had to make do.

you don’t know me and $170 is a lotta scratch for a bottle so I’ll do my best for you. Cracked the bottle, used a fresh glass, and for reference I’ve had one glass of Blade and Bow and one of Henry McKenna 10. Going to take my time in this and give you the best opinion I can as it’s a rare bottle and close to
    $200. Here goes nothing.

Lol it’s only a couple hundred bucks. Anything for the TW brotherhood.

That said I find it very sweet, almost syrupy. Nose is pleasant, not very boozy, very mild and sweet. Taste, sweet, sugary, brown sugar and spice. Longer finish than I expected. It’s actually really good, personally I’d like a bit more proof, I think 90 is very weak prefer things 110 and up in most cases. There’s quite a bit of oak out back too…. I really like it. Is it worth $170? Well idk, is a tank of gas worth $170? Lol…. It’s good and rare and kind of fun. I definitely WOULD NOT add Ice or water (I drink everything neat anyway) but this would be completely diluted by more water. If you can afford it and want the experience, go for it.. is it better than 7 bottles of Buffalo trace??? IDK….
