These work. That's what I used on mine when I drilled new holes to relocate it to fit the 33" easier. Those bolts are lonnnnng it sucks to take them out lol.

I just finished up wiring my front locker in this heat (over 100F down in the south with the head index). Might as well put the new wrenches to use and go sweat some more.

“I was looking into getting those at a point but I gotta ask; can you pop the racks out easily or is it a complete nightmare? I have some of the old style where they cut slots into the bars and I take them out when I need pretty easily. But I wasnt sure for the ones with tracks like that.”

About the sunseeker awning. No, you do not have to leave it on all the time.

Very simple. 2 bolts into the top of the each Thule cross bar. Those stay, no need to ever take them out.

Those are L brackets. The face of that bracket attaches to the awning with just one bolt. So one bolt into each Thule upright.

Just loosen those 2 bolts. Then just slide the awning along until you get to the widened exit point and lift the awning off.

A one man job, takes 5 minutes. Same with putting it back into place. So, there is no need to leave it permanently attached. I am going to use using mine only on trips. Theft too much of an issue if it is left on all the time.

The Thule uprights and entire rack also easy to remove. I take my uprights out at during winter. They slide up and out.

Frequent rain in BC? NO KIDDING
    Just a myth...

Yeah I know rain a bit. Vancouver gets about 2400mm per year.

Here are the top 10 rainiest spots in BC.

I commercial salmon trolled all of these spots for 15 years, on trollers that averaged 40 foot size.

Spending 16 hours per day by myself in the back of the cockpit slinging about 300 salmon per day into the boat. Hook and line, no nets, each fish brought in by hand and gaff hook.

Then gut and ice pack all those in the fish hold. Often in winds around 25knots, seas up to 30 foot high. Biggest was 40 foot seas after a 3 day storm at Cape Cook with winds gusting 110mph. Almost purchased the farm lock stock and barrel that day. That one still gives me nightmares.

We would fish up to 20 days at sea, then come in and sell our catch. By the way, no shower on the boat, so we showered once every 14-20 days. We wear the same slimed fish clothes every day too. Hold your nose. Some boats had no toilet, shit in a bucket and chuck it over the side.

Next morning back out to sea for another 14-20 days, and repeat that for 5 straight months.

During herring fishing season, I had a shotgun pointed at my face 3 feet away by the skipper of another boat that had corked us. He put his herring net over top of ours, and we had to cut his net to get ours up. He said if we cut it, he’d kill the 3 of us. So we cut his net and let it sink. Off he went, swearing away.

Several near death experiences. We were adrift one night 50 miles off the west coast of Vancouver Island, near Esperanza point. Too deep to anchor, so just shut the engine off and drift.

A 400 foot freighter almost runs us over. We wake up when we hear his propellor screw under the water. We are asleep in our coffin sized bunks below the waterline. Bolt up to the wheelhouse and fire up the deisel and slam it into reverse, he missed us by maybe 20 feet. He would not even had known if he had hit us. We would have been at the bottom in seconds. No sleep the rest of that night, shaking too much. Sat up drinking some vodka until 3am then back to work.

They can’t see us, we have just a strobe light on our mast, and if they are not watching their radar full time they won’t see us. We were the only troller out in that area that night.

I have had another 100 experiences like that. Not a job for the timid.

South of the border. Gas has always been higher here than the US, but now it's a bit cheaper here. I put 60 liters (@15.5 gal) in. The exchange rate has helped a bit, it was at 20.60 to the dollar when I filled up. It was actually about $70 bucks worth of gas, plus a 12 pack and a pack of smokes

Was loading some stuff in the camper and took a couple more shots of some updates. Molle panels up front, goose gear storage in, molle panel on the door, hot water heater in the case up front.

    Brand new.
Can someone recommend a good replacement for the pop n lock system. This one is way to noisy. Is the Toyota model quiet and are any of the wiring harnesses compatible or do I have to change the whole assembly?

Yeah we paid $26k out the door for a used DCLB sport with 32k miles 2 years ago. Good luck finding them at that price now.

Damn. I'm gonna have nightmares just thinking about those stories. I've spent a lot of time on the water in my days so I know how dangerous it can be and how quick the weather can change. Glad you survived it.

i have that one, you can definitely tell when it locks so “quiet” is subjective, but I have no problem with it

Any tips on the install? Thx![/QUOTE]

So this is what I did. My catch can is similar but it came with an aluminum piece for mounting. I cut off the elbow piece so I just had the flat piece left. I attached the flat piece to the catch can and mounted the catch can to the drivers side under the hood using one of the two bolts that hold my relay mount in place. After mounting, I measured the hose from the catch can to the intake and cut it. Then I used the leftover piece of the hose that came with the catch can and attached it to the stock hose from the pcv valve using a fitting and clamps so I didn't have to purchase anything extra. You can also buy an additional piece of hose if you want just one piece that goes to the pcv valve. Attached is a link to the catch can I purchased showing the aluminum piece and a picture of the can mounted. Hope that helps.
