Fair enough! Happy to be Northern. Any sort of Tacoma/4x4 Club in PG? Definitely more Tacomas there than up here. Same goes for trails; not a lot of trails up here it seems.

There's one on Facebook, both Tacoma Owners of PG and PG Toyota 4x4. Both are typically pretty quiet. I'd recommend joining the 4WDABC as a member and connecting with the Peace Region Facebook group. You needn't be a member of the organization to join the groups but people are responsive in those groups and if you post about wanting a meet up or trail run people will suggest trails and help organize. It's all 4WD vehicles though but you'll likely find like minded Toyota owners in there.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated! Yeah I'm in a few FB groups for Tacomas/Toyotas in BC but they are very much full of people from the coast.

Are there any shops you know of in PG that focus on offroad vehicles or Toyotas specifically? I'm having a hard time trusting anybody for when I do up my lift. Called a couple "custom" shops in FSJ and they told me they couldn't put my coilovers together because Tacomas don't have coilovers  and then wouldn't believe me when I told them they are most definitely a coilover... Most shops up here deal with 1-ton Ferds and Doges, or complete bolt-on kits, which makes me wary about their experience with custom suspension setups on Toyotas.

That being said I'm not sure if I should drive un-aligned all the way to PG lol :p

There's Raven Truck but I'm not a fan. Like you said up there the owner and front man has very limited knowledge about Toyotas and went so far as telling me the largest size tire you could fit in a Tacoma is a 245/75R16 unless you wanted to chop your bumper down. He's apparently great with Jeeps. I ordered a lift through them to install myself and they failed to notify me that it had been stolen - the reason their once quoted couple weeks became a couple months. Ended up cancelling my order when I got a snippy response and will likely order through Cap-It when the time comes.

Cap-It will only install spacers due to their very limited shop space and equipment however you are able to order a myriad of parts through their main office to be shipped through their store network.

You can talk to a guy named Phil who owns Revolve Offroad (one man shop on the edge of city limits) who's huge in the Toyota community here but I had a lot of repeated difficulty getting clear communication about products, install times, and pricing from him a couple years ago and never bothered to talk to him again to see if anything's changed.

There's also a shop called Fort George Alignment that gets raving reviews for their knowledge of Toyota vehicles and they do install lifts but of course you'll pay established shop dollar.

If anything I'd recommend finding a good alignment place up in Fort St John, and finding people through the 4WDABC to help you install and go from there. People are often happy to help and share the knowledge I find, just be sure to offer a free meal for the help.

Went for an impulse drive over to Vanderhoof and south-of down the Kluskus FSR. Saw a lot of the Kluskus fire area, however no where near the actual scope of the damage.

Found a couple great little lakes and some nice offshoot trails. Adventure for another time as I don't have a whole lot in way of self recovery and I was alone.

The autumn colours up north are astounding right now. I should definitely make time for some more backroading. Anyone ever been to Pass Lake up Upper Fraser Road/Pass Lake FSR? I hear McBride is getting snow, and Pass Lake gains elevation swiftly from down here in PG.

Big black bear there! Getting ready for winter no doubt. As we all know there's plenty of food in our areas for healthy bears. Didn't see any wildlife on my trip and I can't say I'm upset because I was up and driving by 3:30am.

Doesn't seem like it for the post part, I think we've had a whopping 10 different people in this thread since 2013. 4WDABC Caribou and Omineca and PG Toyota 4x4 groups on Facebook are pretty quiet as well.

Ordered some Greenlane Offroad bed stiffeners from way down on the Island. 3-4 week lead time but that doesn't sound too bad. Just excited not to have the flexible bedsides implode under the weight of a canopy, a fat guy, and two 55ish pound dogs with camping gear.

I know, I know, the Rockies going towards the Peace River Valley, not PG-Omineca.

Heard horror stories of the Pass in spring but it was a beautiful day save for a sprinkling of rain the entire time. Truck hauled upwards of 4,000lbs pretty damn well. Saw a young grizzly presumably within a week or two of waking up; maybe three years and quite small, seven black bears, and a handful of deer.

Thought I'd put in a quick quote to say we've got another TW'er up here in FSJ! Still not sure where I'll buy my lift when the time comes, still holding hope that Cap-It can do free transfers through store stock freight. Haven't bothered to check in on that. Still getting used to everything new here.
