With respect to reliability, I dont consider Ford to be anywhere close to Toyota in my humble opinion.

I mean, it was okay. Crappy drivetrain, fuel pump recall, leaking brake light, poor paint, rusting frame aside.

I dont care if I swayed you or not lol. I think they are much too overhyped for a 90k rig.

But the flaw in your argument is that they're not really a $90k vehicle. That's just the asshole dealers. And the morons buying them.

I doubt they will ever really change in price unless ford floods the market, or does direct sales only.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I grew up on Ford as dad was employed by them. First new vehicle was an '89 Ranger AC MT. Drove it 11 years and 198k miles. Sold it my cousins neighbor whose mom put another 75k on it. No more for me after the Focus fiasco edition transmissions. 2014 spent as much time in the shop as it did on the road. 2016 was supposedly fixed, it wasn't. Ford intentionally hid the issues as the class action lawsuit exposed. That's enough Ford for me.

I'm no fan of any car companies. They all do shady stuff. And if it's not known, they just haven't been caught yet. Are American car companies the worst? Debatable.

Some of those companies are better at admitting fault than others.

The rear lower link brackets hang down a couple inches, and from experience, that tends to grab obstacles. The stamped steel look on the undercarriage isn’t great. Closing the doors is really loud for some reason. But, a turbo six cylinder is really cool. Its properly linked in the rear. And it’s built to me easily modded like the wrangler.

I agree. The the 3rd gen Tacoma is a bad representation of Toyotas famed reliability. Look at the guys on here who have popped their motors. JT and Nick have both had wiring issues. Just a couple more issues on top of what you stated

Does the entire suspension system wear out at 90k miles? And does a check engine light come one for the EVAP system come on for a problem that no one can diagnose? Asking for a friend. If you can answer those questions, I have more.

As long as there are stock holders to please, the stock holders will take priority over the consumers. Which is unfortunate and from what I can tell, bass ackwards.

I've owned 2 third gens, one 2nd gen.

The 2nd gen had more problems than either of my third gens.

On my 2nd gen, I replaced the transmission at 144k miles, i had a frame recall, replaced starter multiple times. And that was with a total of 50k miles of ownership before I sold it.

My first 3rd gen had zero issues, except when I put it into a tree.

The current truck? I'm actually really happy with it for how much I beat on it. I have 110k miles, on a truck that for more than half its milage has been geared, and on 35s. I'm still on stock CVs, LCAs, original LBJs, original Wheel Bearings and hubs. Yeah, I had a freak issue with my wiring harness, not a common issue. (Second set of 35s btw)

If anything, owning this truck has damaged what little respect I had for toyota dealership master techs and thier ability to diagnose an issue.

That's just been my experience though

Still has independent front suspension. Don't even know why you'd want to keep it.

I've got to much money it. I also didnt pay what they are currently asking. I paid 34KOTD. (I also owe less than I have in suspension)

The next vehicle I buy will be a Toyota, and it will have a solid axle in the front.

You should still get rid of it. Frame is going to rust out.

I like your truck, and more importantly, you like your truck. No setup is perfect at everything and all machines break.
