I've done a mod or two
The rust stops somewhere in or west of Montana. It's not a problem here at all

I like that you use ear protection. Every time I use the grinder I think I should be wearing ear protection but never do.

A good pair of Bluetooth hearing protectors changes my whole garage experience. They stay on and I don’t have to swap between the garage stereo and protection all the time.

oh yeah a trip to the redwoods would be a must before leaving this side of the country. Easily one of the most impressive things I've ever experienced, outside of maybe Yosemite

I remember taking this little steam train tour through the Redwoods around Santa Cruz mountains and they were saying how the trunk of a Redwood will show how many wildfires its survived in its lifetime. I can't remember if its Redwoods or Sequoias but one or both needs fire to crack open the seeds for new ones to grow (or insects to do it).

of course the issue with the fires we're having is that they're so often and so intense that they are decimating the ecosystem entirely and killing off everything, not exactly what nature had in mind I don't think
