Really?! Man you're lucky. When I have a incoming call through Bluetooth, the highest pitch screaming tridactyl ringtone comes blaring out of the speakers. I've tried everything I can to stop it but unfortunately had zero luck. I thought all of us who bought around the same time had this issue lol. :D:facepalm:

I had it too Theo, I ended up not using my phone in the truck anymore, I got a set of AfterShokz that I use all day anyway, suppressed how I lived without them so long.. I've still not been able to get my unit to update the IMG file...

Had my unit get weird yesterday. It would not shut down.

I pressed the rst button (which wow thats a tiny hole) and nothing.

I had to pull the 20a fuse in the fuse box under the hood to finally kill it.

Hey RJ, hope all is well!

At least you found a way around it! Just don't use Bluetooth lol. I decided to live with racing to answer a call before the ringtone goes off.

That's a bummer! Loading that IMG file up can be tricky.

When you made contact with the restart button did you hear a click? The restart button should be held down for 5 sec or so before it reboots.

This also happeneds to me on a 100° days. I also try to reboot every now and then to clear up any cache files slowing it down.

I did feel it click. I did try and hold it down as well. I may have done it less then 5 seconds though.

I was also unable to run carplay due to an error as well.

All was fixed after the reboot though.

Hey all, I just bought this unit for my 2008 AC non-JBL, no steering wheel control, no CANBUS. It was very easy to install, easily paired with CarPlay, but I am having trouble with the reverse camera. I installed the aftermarket Pop-Lock/ Tailgater latch and camera, everything is connected and the image shows up when I click on the "F-CAM" button in the main menu and press "reverse cam" option and throw the truck into REVERSE... the image is great. But for some reason it will not automatically pop-up with the reverse image when I throw it in "reverse" like I would like it to. Is this a factory settings issue? Does anyone have any insight? Thank you in advance

If I remember correctly, there should be a trigger wire labeled brake. I'm not a 100% sure where it needs to be tapped into on a 08 but thats thats how you get that feature to work.

Thanks for the response Theo, I see the instructions in the back on the owners manual for that process. I was hoping I was done with the work, but apparently not! I guess we need that secondary wire to trigger it, the yellow RCA cable from camera is only video signal which makes sense. Thanks!

No but I did stream the NFL draft while waiting in line with me to catch a ferry home after work. My buddy from work though it was pretty sweet.

How are you all connecting to the internet? What cell service, and are you using phone as hotspot, or does your Dasaita have it's own sim and plan?

Asking because per the speedtest app I'm getting only 30Mbps down on the HU, while the app on the tmobile phone (galaxy s21 5g) shows 300+ down when testing at the exact same time. I suspect it's tmo throttling the hotspot. Tried switching the hotspot to 5ghz, but I guess the Dasaita only does 2.4.

Edit: I'm on the malaysk rom if that matters

If your ‘08 is anything like my ‘06, in the drivers side kickpanel, there’s a connector with a thicker red/white wire. That’s your reverse trigger. It’s, I think, the largest connector back there.

I was sitting in a Ferry line at Friday Harbor Wa. There was coffee shop that had free WiFi. I’ve connected to my home Wifi. I only use 3 outta the 4 phones on my phone plan. I wonder if I could stuff a SIM card in the Dasitia.

Can I ask how you got the camera anytime mod working? Can you offer some hints on the wiring?

id have to search for it. there are a couple good camera anytime threads on TW. In short you wire in a switch that taps into the power then reverse signal and the camera so you can turn it on/off or switch to only back up. on a 2nd gen its wiring near the fuse box from what I recall. If I find it ill post it.

Spent a few hours last night doing some trial and error to get my factory bracket to mount to the Dasaita! Was a PITA but finally got it snug and it’s totally secure now after being in the truck for over a year.

used 8-32 machine screws that were a 1/4inch in length to secure it.
