Pretty much all the same. The Gen 1 pop-n-lok used aluminum brackets, and the Gen 2 has plastic. (Might be a little less noise?) Try some sound deadening insulation on the inside tailgate panel.
I actually like the sound because it lets me know that the truck is locked.

Did my fender flares yesterday. Thinking of making a post probably when it's been at least a week so I can have pictures of how it holds up. They were white and I used Raptor liner on them and I am digging the texture on it.

Dang. I wanted that grille. They told me they can make it work for my sensor and the front camera. I always thought they were suppose to be very high quality

Same thing, and I think it will (it is VERY high quality)...I'm hoping to talk to them today about the camera (I have a solution, but it's not a great one as it requires glue). The wavy part is going to be fairly easy to fix, it has to do with fully tightening some bolts causing the surround to flex. I'm going to get some spacers to put in there so that the nut tightens without having to flex the surround. And, if you do any electrical work at all, it's an easy electrical install, I'm just limited on my toolset and supplies as I live in a condo with limited storage and a parking garage. For me, all of these *little things* (which I know pop up and don't mind when I'm in my garage with my tools...which I used to in my prior life) are just very time consuming.

If you are paying $400 for a grille you shouldn’t have to do any DIY work to make it fit.

    Oh look, another mod....
The fit cam looks nice and has a very clean look to it, but the camera quality is FAR superior to BlackVue or even Garmin Mini. I watched several videos for the FitCam and I was not impressed at all.

I'm not saying you should or should not get it, but review the video quality before deciding.

That was my thought as well, but I also know that while that's what I expect..whenever I tinker with a vehicle like this, it's rarely quite as plug-and-play as I think it's going to be.

Can in anyway if my Tacoma doesn't have the recall foam rubber piece on the sensor , can i make one in any way to waterproof the emblem and stop water from entering the emblem area , such as gasket material?

I'm going in Tuesday for the sensor issue, its been lit up not working now for two weeks, so much so i cant use my cruise control either, so i covered the dash with black tape so i wouldn't see the light driving at night

Had a good trip, enjoyed Charleston a lot, Tommy Condon's Irish pub was one of my favorite stops as well as Revelry brewery too also a great place.

TRD Pro Grille with sensor, so i had to put my regular Tacoma grille back on today to get my sensor fixed, as much as I like the grille my wife and friends like it as well, However I don't feel the quality is as good as some of the other brands out there , I purchased this Grille from Yotaverse, its ok quality but not really impressed, not entirely sure if i will put it back on now until I find out what the dealer says about the sensor issue. Hope they don't say I caused the issue because it has stopped working twice, once in the rain and once now after a car wash. still isn't working now to this day.

if they fix it and i put the trd grille back on, how do i protect the sensor better or do i stay with the oem grille, suggestions? i just don't want my wife or son driving my truck or myself for that matter and not be safe.

If it can be fixed and i can waterproof the senor better i will go back to the TRD Pro Grille, but if not, i will keep the OEM grille and live with it and just sell the TRD Pro grille with TSS Sensor cover and raptor lights for $ 225.00 shipped.

I just want the camera/tss and grey letters I don’t care about the light up. I originally wanted this but talked myself out of it. I liked how aggressive the letters looked.

Yea Tommy Condon's is great. Have not been to Revelry Brewery yet. Will have to check that out. One of my Daughter's works at Red's Ice House in Mt. Pleasant just across the Cooper River from Revelry's. She is a bartender there so I get discounts or freebies when I go there. :D
Glad you had a great time.

Screen Protech kit and since @Bigare brought it to my attention, the AC drain mod. Found a ton of water in my frame when I pulled into the driveway last night and it's only in the 80's here. Will be at work in the desert where the forecast is 110 all week. The condensation isn't a huge deal but cost me 15 minutes and $5. Thanks buddy.

    TLDR;
Owner called, we discussed the issues, while not perfect, he's a great guy and was willing to kind of do whatever I wanted to get it right (I opted to deal with a couple things I think I can live with rather than send it back for him to make the adjustments).

So, the longer version on this DBCustomz grill insert. The owner just called me back to walk me through a couple things. The camera was just a miss. Apparently, there are a few different styles of cameras/mounts that Toyota uses (I don't know this for sure, but he has talked to Toyota about it), and to get all the parts for all the possible combos is pretty expensive (there's a lot people can say here when we're discussing a high-end item like this, but at least I know that I'm just going to glue the sucker in there now). He did offer to have me send it back to him (he was hoping with the camera) so he could fabricate what was needed for the style I have (since he had based this on a slightly different style mount that he thought I had). And given that even before this, I found the front-facing-camera to be bordering on useless..so I'm not really that concerned about it personally (but I can see why others might not share this view). As far as the wavy part of the insert's surround, he passed on some tips about tightening them that has already helped minimize the issue. Lastly, with the electrical, he made a pretty solid point that everybody wants to do this differently, so he designed to to be a direct battery connection (and if you want to go a different way, then he can't anticipate the types of connections you might need). It came with a metal screw to mount the ground wire, but I didn't want to put another screw in if I could just use one of the existing 3 ground points (there are like 2-3 that I see already in the are, so I prefer to just use one of those if I can). And for a little additional context, there are a few (3 IIRC, but I don't have that controller in front of me right now) pigtails off this lighting unit to run other lights if you want (raptor/etc). So, it was nice that the RGBW lighting option can support multiple devices (if that's a thing somebody wanted).
