The stock one is a multi layer steel gasket, so it’s pretty good quality. In my experience, the ARP studs make the difference. I blew out two head gaskets while using the stock torque to yield head bolts. After swapping to ARP studs, i had no issues with the 15lbs I was pushing with the urd kit at one point. It turns out, the connecting rods don’t care for that so much though haha

OK, just looked like more bolts than the 1 piece factory one. Hadn't looked in awhile. Mine is 08 4 cyl and it did come with factory 3 piece hitch and I swapped to the factory 1 piece hitch that I believe is the 6cyl version or maybe just RC's came with the 3 piece hitch. The one piece has like 1k more towing capacity but I just liked the cleaner more hidden look of it.

Used it to haul a kid's playground house to my wife's school, the old one to a dumpster on the other side of the property, and then a new deck box home for the backyard oasis. Only picture I took was of the new deck box, and I'm certain that's not interesting. :D

Modified sos off-road mid skid to join warfab front skid (from their chop kit). Then cut some pod brackets and welded them up also.

Made one of my last payments on the truck. Less then 2k to go. Should only be a couple more months if I don't just pay in full.

Thanks! Appreciate it. I think the key is not to overdo it and try to make them look perfect, except for the raised outlines at the edge so they don't stand out as a re-paint. Gives them a slight "weathered" look. The only thing to take your time with is the edges. The paint is just thin enough that you can work up to the edge and not have it drip over. The short experience of doing the first one made the second one come out better. The paint also dries to a semi-gloss finish which makes it look factory.

Oh she rubs & needs a proper tubbing but with my superbumps spaced down it doesn’t really rub at all around town. It is begging for a tub job

I was actually looking at the 3 pc one before and to me, the only difference is the factory installed class 4 hitch is welded on the ears, not bolted. I also looked at the Hook road hitch, but didn’t want to take a chance. My luck would be that it wouldn’t fit without modifying it.

X-treme audio. As someone pointed out they are only 2 gb of ram making them slower than other models like the Joying brand. They also are not 4g or 5g internet/GPS. Trying to decide between Kenwood and the more expensive Joying. Joying has the best bang for the $ if you want to spent closer to $400. I can't seem to justify that for a truck I drive around 2,000 miles a year. Still shopping.

I towed a 3700 lb shoe box today.
    20220617_102541.jpg
I towed it through mountain roads and on a freeway. Plenty of power from my Tacoma thanks to my choice to over-gear it slightly. It stops on a dime regardless of what it's towing thanks to my brake upgrades. The only thing I got negative, I kind of expected it, was how much more wind affects a travel trailer compared to a boat (I tow boats often). Overall it was a walk in the park.

Try 5,080 lbs instead. At least that explains the 11.56 mpg hahaha

I thought that trailer was heavier than 3700lbs.

They had the lugs torqued way more then the 100ft/lbs they told me, so I waited a week hoping they would loosen. They did. Got it done today.
