Dobinson’s coils and shocks. SOS sliders, ditch light brackets, and front skid. Rigid ditch lights. BFG KO(dos) More minor stuff.

He’s a 1.5 man operation. Talked to him yesterday since he came out and found a bad board on my new unit. He is booked solid through august in Spartanburg area. Working 16 hour days and turning down people calling him for quotes. If you want his number message me but I doubt he will be able to help.

He was laughing saying people were telling him to quote moving them to the front of the line. He mentioned $5k add on since others would be getting pissed. I’d say he’s doing ok. No employees and no overhead.

Well, talked to Toyota and it sounds like the 4Runner is totaled. They don’t even do frame replacements even if you could get one. Doesn’t even have 10,000 miles on it. Really looking forward to this fight with insurance. /s

So talk to Collision Safety Consultants first. They are out of Belmont, but have a national reputation. Sounds like you'd be fighting with THEIR insurance over what amount they are going to give you for the truck. They have a good FB page, lots of good reviews. You pay them, they fight to get you the most amount of money. Usually it's thousands of dollars more than the insurance company will initially offer you.

I guess once that's figured out, you get to figure out how to buy it back. Maybe someone can pull the frame out enough, you put a fancy rear bumper on it, and replace the tailgate? IDK.

Since it had so few miles on it, I’m going to be trying to get for replacement value in this current market, plus the BP-51 suspension and roof rack etc. if they don’t wanna play ball I’ll send them something on Holly‘s letterhead, but that place will be my backup. I didn’t even know that existed

Yup they are well reviewed on some of the car/garage enthusiast sites I'm a part of. Seems like they charge about $500 give or take.

And just a further data point, since I've went overkill on my Tacoma, I started looking into higher end policies to cover mod value. Agreed value policy, $60k. Costs about $1300/yr. $300 or so more than I was paying.

Now I just sit and wait to get rear ended.

But your insurance wouldn’t matter getting rear ended right?

No, it still would. Their insurance would only pay what my truck is worth, $40k. I'd have to invoke my policy to pay the balance. I don't know specifics yet, but I think that's how this works.

It depends. NC is an At-Fault state (only 3 other states and DC are at-fault). If the accident is 100% the other person's fault then yes, their insurance pays for your car BUT if it is determined that the accident is 99% their fault and 1% your fault then your insurance will have to pay for your damages and their insurance will cover their damages. Not really a fair/great system. At least that's my understanding.
