Well when it comes to welding and CAD I am no pro. what I have learned from a bunch of people is that practice helps a lot. For CAD get Fusion 360. Super easy to use and its free. Welding I have a lot more experience with. Best advice I've gotten is that if you are welding for you then you tend to take more pride in it and be more critical which makes you better, get comfortable bc its one less thing to worry about when your welding, and put on some music you like. helps you stay relaxed and steady. The last one helps if you're doing TIG welding. Get some scrap steel and practice getting it to stick together.

Well I’m all done. Here is the finished product. I need to do some editing in the CAD file to fix all the problems I had. But it looks pretty good. The wind deflector leaves something to be desired but I’ll change that later.

I don't mean to necro a year old thread, but any chance you'd be willing to license the CAD file for $$$? I'd like to get a local automotive fab to laser cut the side and front fairing for me. I purchased all the cross bars and they're collecting dust in hopes that I could do something like this myself, but I don't have the time nor the money to get the tools and also can't justify the cost of a Prin$u in Canada...

let me think about it. I've had a few guys ask me for it and I was starting to talk with a fab shop about them buying the CAD file from me but COVID kinda of ruined the plans to bring the rack to them for them to see it.

Well after a year of the parts sitting in my garage I was able to get around to test fitting the parts for the bed rack in a mostly assembled state. .25”aluminum side plates, 1”x2” aluminum cross bars. Milled out the slots with my trim router. Still have to finish making the mounting brackets but it’s coming along.

Guess I’ve never updated this thread. I had to weld up the custom brackets for the bed rack to the all pro cage, then get it sitting just right. Made mounts for my jack, shovel, axe, and recovery boards. Then i had to learn how to weld aluminum to do some repairs on the wind deflector and side rails. Then after a lot of cleaning and scuffing I painted them with some cerakote burnt bronze which came out pretty good.
