I’d wait a couple months to buy, things are cooling down, prices will start to mellow out.

Good news - the 4th gen isn't coming out in 2023 and you can still get a manual transmission 2023 model year third gen.

Unless you need to finance, in which case waiting will lead to a higher interest rate.

I wouldn't do it unless you are stuck on a Tacoma. At the $55k-60k price point of a marked up Tacoma there are much better options.

Currently in a Jeep. Looking for a mid size truck so options are limited but have had Tacos and Tundras before. Jeep has left me stranded and I have the wrong plumbing for a Ridgeline :D

I started off by telling the manager I needed the same 10k market adjustment added to my trade! After a lot of back and forth, I was able to get the market adjustment removed so ended right at MSRP, so I'm happy!

It's a seller's market for sure. Who is responsible for the "greedflation" the dealership charging the mark up or the customer who pays it?

I look at it as a two way street.

7-10K market adjustment is the norm around here in Coastal VA for a Tacoma, it's a little higher for the 4runners.

I saw a lime green 4runner Pro with 55K MSRP and a 15K market adjustment on it a few months ago. It damn near made me fall over, 70K for a 4runner!

You can probably drive off the lot in a nice AT4 Sierra, or F-150 Powerbost for 70K. I do like the 4Runner Pro, but I need a 4Runner as much as I do a fullsize truck.

You are correct, it's a joint effort. If the dealerships tried to charge it an no one bought, they'd have no choice but to back off. A big part of the problem is dealers take the attitude that if you don't pay it the next guy walking in off the street will, and unfortunately in most cases they are right.

The wife's 2015 Chevy Traverse is starting to get a little long in the tooth and we no longer need the third row. We've been looking for either a T4R SR5 Premium of OR but we can wait until inventory and prices settle down.

Even a used SR5 Premium is going for close to 55K here, I'm not pulling the trigger on anything over $50K new or low 40's CPO.

Yep, I've been sitting all cash (G Fund) now in my TSP fund and will be for at least the next 12 - 18 months. It's been one of the few funds that hasn't been losing all year.
