He was paying $150 for full coverage living in CA. Now he got quoted $500?!???!?!?!

Like $150 a month? Really monthly insurance cost is gonna differ wildly from person to person depending on a number of factors. Coverage selected will be a big one. Age. Past insurance claims and tickets. All would need to be put out for any sort of accurate comparison

I view insurance as a catastrophic situation. My wife's car got hit and run in a parking lot recently and I just paid out of pocket for it. I don't want to file a claim for something minor.

Insurance is weird. My collector cars are incredibly cheap to insure. Stated value policy on my Z @$35k is only like $250 per year. Land cruiser even cheaper. Our daily drivers is where USAA gets us. lol

Hail, biggest difference from CA to CO outside all the other personal factors that go into insurance rates.

yo wtf kind of coverage do you guys have with such low payments? my shit is like $1100 every 6 months through usaa. i can get more details, but i have a $500 collision deductible, $300 something else like windshield replacements, a couple hundred thousand coverage for body damage and stuff, no uninsured motorist coverage, no rental reimbursement.

im 30 and haven't been in an accident since i was 16. i have a safe driver discount for being a safe driver for the last 5 years? (i was looking at it last night when i renewed my flood insurance for my house)

My deductible is $250 through State Farm, full coverage, and like $650 for 6 months on a 2021 Tundra. My 2005 M3 is even less for full coverage through Hagerty. About to insure a trailer and offroad only jeep through Hagerty also. If it isn't a daily driver, use Hagerty!

Also it's worth it to shop around ever few years because even with "loyalty" discounts a lot of insurance companies still steadily increase your rates over the years.

Insurance seems to be all over the place TBH. I've had brokers shop quotes for me 1x a year for the last 5 years or so.

My Tacoma is like $12 a month for comprehensive. my shitbox compact daily which KBB at $500 is $78/mo for liability only :homer:

and my tow rig???? :bananadead: :bananadead: :bananadead:

2019 TRD OR. Work from home, garage kept. $105 a month through State Farm. I’m in Boulder County and from what I understand the county you live in plays a big role in cost along with the obvious stuff like age, credit score, and driving record. Then there’s your coverage levels… hard to compare without like 20 data points.

The same thing happened when I moved out from southern CA to CO in 1997. I was paying 98.00 per month and then I was getting quotes of 300.00+. Shop around. I found it for 140.00 per month and then it went down after establishing residency.

Pueblo county is one of the highest for insurance…fyi.

Call Zack (719) 238-2188, he has dropped my insurance by a lot. I’m about to swap over to his company for my home and auto as well.

I worked with a couple brokers in October and couldn't come up with a cheaper rate than what I'm currently paying

Age and not being married kills it I guess.

Man that sucks. Being a baller isn’t cheap. My corvette was 100.00 per month. We’ll see if that holds true on a C8 :D

    Windshield damage and hail.

Colorado had two bad summers of hailstorms that ruined tens of thousands of cars and you couldn’t even get a body shop in Colorado Springs to fix your golf ball truck for months. Rates still reflect that.

You will need windshield coverage. I was replacing them at least once a year.

Every season has something that will try to kill your vehicle.
