That’s a little more like it. 100’ of climbing per mile I’ve learned is a decent ride.

When are most people looking to be in VT? I'll be there for Friday afternoon, but would be great to meet up Friday for dinner if enough people are around. Also, is this thread the best place to use for communication during the weekend?

    No.

The last time I went on a trip with Eammon I got banned for 3 days for posting a Ross Perot banner and was lucky I remembered the name of the park we were meeting up at but got the time wrong.

Final coordination should be done via SMS text or a third party app somehow.

If everyone who is coming would like to send me a PM with your real name and cell phone number, I'll set up a text group so we can coordinate over the weekend.

I'll be up Friday, early afternoon. I'm staying at the Burke Mountain Hotel and I hear the restaurant there is pretty good. Maybe go there unless Eammon knows of a better place?

You should have my number Eammon, it hasn't changed. Just let me know if you need me to forward it to you.

Pain/train ride for VT. Did the Mt Wachusett road climb 3 times this morning with @guitarjamman We we’re going to go for a 4th run but we needed to get back to the camp ground. Ready for the climb roads next weekend!

I heard from Rob, Mike and Zach. Is anyone else definitely going to be here next weekend?

Weather-wise things are looking a little sketchy right now, but I'm sure we'll find a way to make the best of it regardless.

here is a link to a route that I am looking forward to do while in KT - imagining this would be a long day of riding, but hits a lot of the goods on the eastern side. Always room for on the fly changes and cutting out segments as needed depending on how the legs are feeling - but it skips out on the entire Haul Road Climb (not sure if I'd want to swap out Buck Stop for Stormin Norman for the decent down to Flower Brook).

Yeah there are going to be a few pieces that are going to hurt for sure, and its tough starting out with that camptown climb, but it must be done lol. Like how you get to come into the gazebo instead of climbing the haul road to get it. Pack a few sandwiches and have a nice happy little picnic up there before the blackbear decent.

    :angrygirl:

I was kinda waiting to see if I could pull it off last minute but I will (a) not have a bike (though thank you @BadDNA for the offer!) (b) have my dog who hasn’t gone on a group ride/busy area like this before. The bike was part of it but the dog was a bigger part, I will have to have her this weekend so I won’t be able to get on the trails if I went up there :(

So I am unfortunately out for this.

I get it, but boo! I have a spare stumpjumper (XL) if anyone needs to borrow as well - however it is definitely made for over 6' tall people.

That's certainly a bummer. Dogs aren't allowed on the trails up here anymore regardless though, double bummer.

Don't worry Rob, I've got plenty of experience leading group rides with novice riders. I'll keep an eye on you and we'll 'punch out' before you're completely dead.

That's really close to the ride we do When I go up. We shuttle up to the Hotel and end at the Tiki hut. The route hit all the good stuff on that side. This is the ride from last year.
