Yes if thieves want it they can get it, but with that rational why not just leave the fob in it, unlocked and post on facebook were your parked it? Just because thieves can get it doesn't mean you should make it easy for them.

I keep my fobs in a faraday bag when the truck is parked at home. This defeats the most common method thieves use to steal push button start vehicles - signal boosting. With that covered I don't think they are any more or less difficult to steal than a key start vehicle.

This truck is 35k dollars, there is no excuse for the security to be so poor that you should need to put your fobs in faraday bag just to stop someone from driving it away. It is an inexcusable oversight. Also, once someone has excess to the OBDII port it is easy to program a new fob even if yours are blocked. Bypassing a mechanic ignition on a modern car is very difficult to do right. I have seen this done on a 2012 toyota camry(for science, no ones car was being stolen). Even with the wiring diagrams siting in front of us we could not convince to car to start without the key. It got stuck in the start cycle and we needed to disconnect the battery to get it to stop. Then the car still wouldn't start because there was a bunch of blown fuses, a few fried relays, and 3 engine bay grounds that needed repair. There is know way that is just as easy as programing a new fob with a computer.

You can turn the fob off.

    Enough for now
It took me a few weeks to get used to the push to start. I had key ignitions my whole life and when living over seas. I had a bad habit of turning the vehicle off in drive until I got used to it

You can do the same with the key fob for the push button start. Before you respond back try it out- I think you will be surprised. And this is without turning off the fob.

I drove a rental recently and I sure missed never getting the key out of my pocket or doing anything with it. I didn’t realize how much I liked the FOB and push start.

Almost every Toyota I’ve had ended up with a push start button eventually.

Eh, you can have both. The Subaru BRZ had both manual and push to start. I liked it and that car had a Toyota equivalent so they can do it why I don’t know, probably cost related. I personally like manual and push to start and there isn’t a reason you can’t do both

The Corolla MT has push to start also if not mistaken, l believe the Tacoma MT has a key to work with the clutch start cancel switch.

It's just personal preference. Some prefer to use their smartphones to unlock and start their cars. When I drove a Hyundai, I used bluelink to do that all the time. Yes, I carried the fob because the car needed it but didn't use it to start/stop the car. Used the push button on the door handle to lock/unlock the car. Can't unlock the car while running using the smartphone app. But you can use the app when it's not running.

If you drive a Hyundai (or a Kia), here's a couple of tips about the side mirrors on some cars:
Tip, the mirrors will fold when you do that automatically if you do it that way and leave the fold switch in the middle. (pretty well known for the most part)
Tip 2, the mirrors will turn down when you put the car in reverse if you leave the adjustment switch in either left or right. Shows you where your rear bumper is in relation to obstructions. They will auto return to their forward driving position as soon as you take it out of reverse. (drives my old boss crazy because his Audi S7 doesn't do that - and the fact that the chief designer for Hyundai was a former Audi designer).

If you drive one with a bluelink account, here's tip:
Say you have a friend, a child, a spouse or a parent who is at your house. You're not there and won't be there for a while. It's really cold outside. You can tell the car to start, set the heater to a comfortable temp, let it run for 10 minutes. It will auto stop because no one with a fob got in. You then tell the car to unlock and your friend, child, spouse, or parent can get in. They will be safe(r) and warm. You can do that whether you're next door or across the country. They can't control the car but at least they are protected from the weather and potential thugs. I do believe you can unlock, let them in, then have them lock it and you tell it to start. They can't drive it because they have no fob. It will cut off if they apply the brakes. It will also cut off after 10 minutes by itself and won't start if it's too low on fuel. It will cut off if they unlock any door too or attempt to work any controls. The only requirement for this to work is that you have to be in your home country and so does the car.

For me it’s the Ram trucks with no gear shift, just a dial which annoy me. I had one as a rental for a week or two and never got used to that, although as I recall, that Ram had a key :D

I vaguely recall some Star Trek Actor getting killed by a Jeep of some sort with that dial, he jumped out to get the mail or something and it ran him over.

I love my push button start. I've had no issues with it that I wouldn't have had with a key start. Plus it's great to not have to reach into my pocket to lock/unlock or start the vehicle. This is even better after bike rides when the last thing I want to do is dig into my riding bag to get my keys out.
