It was starting to write, according to the dialogue box, warned me not to touch anything, then errored.

Ok, a force flash will likely get you back up and running. Do everything you would typically do to flash, but instead of selecting calibrate ECM, select the gen 2 force flash. If you have closed vF tuner, it may be necessary to select Calibrate ECM, and once it fails select the force flash. Use your stock file to get you back up and running before trying to flash an aftermarket tune.

So won't flash but not bricked? Maybe this is what @mZiggy refers to as a soft brick.

If it is indeed appearing to be soft bricked, I'd restart the laptop, open up the software, attempt flash. If unsuccessful, disconnect the battery for 30 mins, or disconnect and hold the cable terminal ends together for 5 mins or so. Reconnect and attempt reflash.

Anyone in the Youngstown, Cleveland, or Pittsburgh area that would be able and willing to flash my truck if I purchase this?

Sooo just a bit of an update/review of my experience so far with Nexus Performance +P.

Have put ~ 1500 kms on since install, and tried it out towing this past weekend. Towing was highway, high grade gravel, somewhat hilly drive. Couple long pulls through a river valley, with ongoing bridge construction, so no real chance to game the 2 mile pull off the bridge. Also had a different 2 mile pull from the campsite, on gravel, with steeper grade.

First, just DD stuff, this tune is amazing! So much fun to drive, and passing at speed is a breeze!

Pulling the trailer, a borrowed 25’ 98 Mallard, weighing ~5600 lbs with all the crap, 2 labs, me, the boss and the yard apes, was crazy. My wife actually looked behind us a few times to make sure the trailer was still there, lol cause the truck didn’t blink! I was excited for the big hills to see how well it would do. It didn’t disappoint. Into the construction we’re slowed to around 50 km/h, and then start climbing, about a mile up before zone ended. Back up to 100 BEFORE the top of the hill, and the truck was doing great. Pulled in 4th at about 4000 rpm to gain that speed, and still had lots left to give. Same result going home on that valley, with a little longer pull. Temp stayed in normal range.
The hard pull out of the campsite was made exciting due to wheel spin, haha, gravel is awesome. Ended up stopping after a few hundred yards and engaged 4x4. Pulled out of that like a champ. Couldn’t be happier with this tune already, and am stoked to try out Blackhawk!
Thanks guys! Keep up the amazing work!

Just wondering if anybody with a heavier truck came across this phenomenon.
After installing Nexus +P, did a few trips on i78 in NJ. A few hills, 65 mph speed limit, nothing crazy. Trying to maintain ~70 mph, truck would shift up and down between 6-5-4 without significant throttle input. Very similar to how stock tune would behave. (can't really remember if original M+W tune behaved like that, but somehow I just don't think so).
Besides for that, it's a lovely tune. Performed better than original M+W+tow when towing in S4. Pretty fun to drive, but unlike some other reviewers, I don't see any mpg improvement. Wasn't really looking for it though.

BTW, I drive an overweight taco on 33s, and still on stock gears.

Anybody from Nexus +P try out blackhawk yet? I've got the updated files but I'm too lazy to flash em at the moment. Been too happy with the Nexus +p to get out and change it.

Are you positive it was shifting, and not the TC locking and unlocking? Do you log at all when you drive? If so, would you be so kind to share some data?
