Yessir, I'm assistant director of the CUB on campus. Started working for them when I was a student and then never left. In a couple of weeks I'll have been working there full time for ten years.

Edited to add: I'm the only one in my family that went to WSU. Grew up about an hour north of Seattle and only went to WSU because it was close enough (6hr drive) that I could still go home when I wanted to, but far enough away my parents wouldn't drop in randomly or often. My dad did a quarter at UW then dropped out, so that was the option they were pushing for. I was between WWU and WSU.

Got impatient and ordered the Tusk Excursion rackless setup. Also got an email that the tank bags were back in stock, so ordered one of those too. Good thing because I like the Giant Loop Diablo tank bag, but not enough to spend $250 on it. Hopefully both will show up this week.

And Saturday Im going to try to put the tires on. Or at least the rear?

Here's yet another plea to do your best to avoid texting and driving, something I know we're all guilty of from time to time.

Buddy and his GF got nailed by a distracted driver while out for a 2up ride. Driver jumped the center median and took out their bike head on.

Ill spare the details, but several missing limbs and digits between them now. Thankfully they both appear to be increasingly responsive as they come out of their sedation.

    that's fkn terrible.

How stupid can you be to be so distracted while texting that you hop a median...truly tragic for your buddy and his gf.

IDK, I just hope my actions in life never bring that sort of senseless hurt on someone.

Only thing that miraculously saved his gf was that behind them was a car full of trauma nurses that stopped to help. Sounds like her leg more or less got ripped out of her pelvis and damn near bled out on the X.

OMG! I'm thankful to hear they've both survived. I think the punishments for distracted driving need to be made every bit as severe as those for driving under the influence.

To be affected for life because someone was inconsiderate and dangerous… that’s so wrong, man.

I’m really sorry to hear about their accident. Let us know if there’s anything we can do to help.

I agree that Drinking/distracted driving needs harsher punishment.

Agreed. You're more or less driving under the influence of technology. The punishment should be swift for this stuff, especially when you've just altered the remainder of someone's life. So sad.

Absolutely! I'm not big on suing people but these are the cases where the person responsible needs to pay for what they did. Beyond the medical expenses these people are going to be looking at a lifetime of missed opportunities, PTSD issues, continued medical problems related to the accident, possible loss of employment, etc. Add to that the number of drivers carrying NO insurance or state minimums that won't even begin to cover the expenses for these folks. Driver of that car should be financially responsible for them for the rest of their lives.

Please let us know if a go fund me or something of that nature is set up for them. I'm far from rich but these folks are going to need help.

That's absolutely awful. I think the fear of someone getting hurt under my care riding 2 up, even if it was completely out of my control like this was, would haunt me for the rest of my life.

Was working with my wife on her bike some more today and just kept thinking about that post again and again. She’s doing great in a parking lot but I’m worried about her out on the road, man. People are horrible.

Speaking of road safety, a Navy buddy of mine PCS'd and gave me all his old riding gear. I have this 06 DOM helmet size small that I have no use for. Since its long out of date, I dont really wanna sell it for a profit and get that bad karma, but would make a nice garage piece, etc. At most, letting a kid ride around the front yard or something.

If anyone wants it, Ill ship it to you at cost.

Had to use my personal day before the end of the fiscal year (July 1) and today was the only day I could swing it on my calendar (didn't realize I had forgotten to use it until last Thursday, whoops) so decided to go riding with my free afternoon. First really nice day so far this summer.

Went down to the river and I gotta say.. drones are fun haha

(Fingers crossed the HD and 4K versions actually process this time.. youtubes been hating about half of my 4k exports lately and refusing to process them. ugh.)

Most likely selling mine after this season for a trail bike. Deciding between a KTM and Honda, but the CRF300L is like the worst of both worlds for street and trail riding.
