Every 3rd day for the last 21 years 1 on 2 off. Used to laugh it off on all nighters when we would have a lot of calls, now I go to bed at 9 and hope to get to 2 am before a call comes in. And more often now take a nap on my days off to catch up

That is the toughest thing going sleep to wide awake running a call, usually lasting a hr and trying to turn it off to go back to sleep. After 0430 I don’t try, I read this thread and see if the watchmen @RustyGreen is up.
When the adrenaline gets turned on at fires and or extrications, the whole crew ends up awake making breakfast

    Re: poll.

26 years of 2-3-2. 12 hr shifts. Switching to days for 2 weeks, then nights for 2 weeks.

Lots of night shift OT, so the majority of my career was nights.

    Really didn't mind it.

Since retired, I now know how little sleep I was operating on.

Now I work for myself and am loving every bit of it!

Studying my sleep I seem to go in cycles, currently I'm sleeping... less bad than average... for me. Even when I sleep bad I don't feel any worse than average, just more angry.

And I have very odd dreams.
The other night I dreamed I was back at the old job, working alone as usual and had just discovered someone dropped off about 50 bags of concrete in the parking lot -- and it was snowing heavily in June. I was furious that I couldn't find anything in the shop -- including my forklift to bring the concrete in. WTH :confused:

I envy the guys who say they get a great nights sleep.

Today I had a clearance rack score at TSC. Two 4.0 AH batteries & charger for $79.99 -- $100 off the original price.

I do mange to sleep somewhat well, trying to shoot for 6-8 hours. But, I have to set the alarm for late to achieve that, as sometimes I'll awake in the middle and be up for an hour. I've screwed up my sleep by taking melatonin tablets many years ago when I used to work on the roads and slept in hotels. That transferred over to working night shift. Now I can't sleep without them, despite being able to "sleep" at somewhat normal hours.

Haha sorry I was checking under the mattress for cash! It’s a 4x8 LDR water table with a 4 axis attachment. I’m not sure what software it comes with but he said it has every option they had when he bought it (2019?) I can buy it with a hypertherm xp45 for $15k or $12 without, both prices are obo.

    That is pretty big.

My 4 x 4 is way bigger than I should have built.

Those were, sorta still are, popular up here because they are transportable in a bush plane. Work well slow moving utility/hunting role. But ... Dangerous as Hell fast moving fun riding. My wife's cousin died on one the week before we got married in 1984. She lost control going downhill and hit a tree.

Can't like that Moose, I think we probably all know a few people that have been seriously injured or killed on an atv. It always happens to the good ones too.

Get on up and get with it crew. Have a good day all.
