I've owned this Tikka T3 Lite in .223 since about 2006. In 2010 I harvested an eight point whitetail buck with it in Ohio with one shot using Hornady 75gr. rounds. A very accurate rifle with a modest 3x9x40 Nikon Prostaff scope. For years I've had the metal bolt shroud upgrade in the way back of my mind. While on a recent tear to spoil myself more than my dog for once, this got added to the list. I am keeping the plastic factory one as a spare. Function checked to ensure proper bolt motions. In the picture with the bolt out, I am pointing to the factory plastic bolt shroud.

Surefire muzzle and warden. Eventually want to shorten the barrel some. Thinking about swapping to fixed mag so I can pistol grip. So many rules...

Are hand grips like that, with the big web/paddle on the back, required out there?

Only on non fixed by or non locked magazines, you're only allowed deemed featureless paddle grips. So standard pistol grip or vertical foregrip are not allowed unless you change the magazine action. The gubment thought that might deter people from owning an AR..

It looks stupid as all but still effective after training

Surprisingly, it's not that intrusive. It's neutral with the palm resting against the paddle. A pistol grip is just more comfortable.

Just ordered a half dozen extractor springs and a spare German Extractor for my MKE AP5. Smoked the spring with a stovepipe when I was out last weekend so got a handful of spares to keep in the range bag.

What if you glue your glove to the grip with your thumb facing up?

Sort of like the inverse of a "pistol brace".

    Just spitballing.

I grabbed 3 boxes of it at Walmart for the same price. Last Saturday I saw it at Cabelas for $31.88 a box, I thought that was an odd price

I hope it shoots as good out of the criterion as it did the brand that won't be mentioned, it was the only round close to 1 moa out of that barrel.

I’m just waiting for a chance to stretch that rifle out some. If the power shocks shoot half as well as they do in my bolt gun I’ll be tickled. I have some fusions to try also
