ET wheel locks?

For most of us running aftermarket wheels we use ET lugs. All the wheel locks i've seen are stardard thread length and not ET. Should that matter?

 

People still use wheel locks?

 

I haven't in 10 years but was just thinking about maybe using them for my new wheels. I only know of one person to actually get their wheels stolen and that was during the night as an apt. complex in midtown Atlanta....

 

I had a set of wheel locks a long time ago on my old Camaro and lost the key to it. Was a pain in the ass when it came time for new tires. Now my lug nuts take a special socket and I keep one in my glove box and one in my truck box.

 

Gorilla makes them. Although I had a hard time finding some in black.

Yeah my FN wheels use the same socket as yours i'm sure. I think all spline lugs use the same one now. My new to me methods will also use the same one i'm sure with the ET lugs I got for them. My FN wheels are going on my wife's 4runner and she's the one insisting on wheel locks b/c shes the one who personally knew the person who had their wheels stolen. For $26 I'm willing to not fight this battle. Just was wondering if they made them in Extended Thread like the lugs need to be.

 

Guess worst case I just paint them black....
