Only you can really decide if a spare is worth it or not. I only stepped up to 70 series and I bought a spare tire.. if I have a tire on a long trip that can not be repaired, I want an proper sized spare. Then it doesn't matter if it goes on the front or rear, it just works.

Duratracs sounds like full on mud terrains after they get some wear in them.

Also a Toyo fan. I don’t recall what I had on my first gen, IIs or IIIs, but enjoyed them enough to put them on my third. Great in the snow and on ice.
    Spare is a personal choice.
Don’t recall how much bigger you went but I wouldn’t go very far on a spare that is significantly smaller than what you’re running. There’s lots of options for a larger than stock spare. Deflating is an option if you carry a compressor. People have said that if you relocate the hoist farther back on the frame or pull the tire towards the rear bumper as you lift it, that a 33 will fit. You may have to widen the support bracket arms with a mallet and/or add heat shield over the tail pipe where it gets close to the spare. There’s several threads on fitting a 33” spare up there.

    Following.

just as a point of reference, how many miles is reasonable to expect from these Toyo AT3s?

I was just in the tire sub-forum specifically looking for AT3 threads and wondered how I missed this post :anonymous:

Getting these for the Jeep when the factory KO2s go out.

Had Toyo Open Country ATIII's on my Jeep before this and swapped out these for the same before I even hit 7,500mi. They're very good, fairly quiet, and after 20k on the Jeep I could barely see any wear. I'm 10k in on these and they still look like new.

And I think they offer a 50,000 mile warranty on the LT’s. The 255/80/17’s I got were LT. For an All Terrain Tire, hell 50000+ is pretty good I’d think. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
I’ve run BFG ATs for over 25 years. My neighbor who owns a Goodyear dealership and another lifelong friend who runs a tire distribution both recommend the Toyos over all others for a street driven all terrain tire. When replacement time rolls around I’ll be mounting Toyos.

Get Toyo’s. I had balance problems with the wild peaks and swapped. Much better.

I have 20k on my 265/70/17 AT2s in SL and they still look new. I'm ready to just upgrade to the AT3s as they are night and day difference. They drive and ride so great on my Son's Tacoma. He went from the AT2s to the AT3s and there is a difference. I think the BFGs are still a great looking tire and in fact still the best looking tire but thats about all. I speak from experience, been through maybe 20 sets over the years of driving. Every new 4wd truck od suv I put a set on, not any longer.

TrueDat. That's because they are the most aggressive A/T out there. Closest thing to a M/T but with the smoothness of a A/T. Not a compromise Highway tire, like the above mentioned tires.

They’re the worst tires I’ve ever had. Loud, stiff, and wear uneven (in my experience).

They have a plant in NY but that's not where the wildpeak is made.
