Cuzzz this won't cause a bunch of morons to run out and fill up on gas to save 2.5% on gas...It's not worth $0.18 a gallon to even dream of dealing with that fiasco. This is a complete let them eat cake....

I always found it better to increase supply to abate a shortage...I'm wondering how forcing an increase in demand helps...

 

Probably going to find in a year they pass a "Gas Tax Recovery Act"
Where they'll grab your auto inspection data, figure out how many miles you traveled and tax you on that...
and of course that won't be temporary...it will be permanent and THEN they can start recovering the road use gas taxes they lost out to due to increased fuel economy and electric cars...

 

It doesn't. Either the people pushing it are dumber than 9 chickens, or they believe voters are and will mistake a paltry price decrease (that will last maybe a week before prices adjust upward) for doing something meaningful.
