I thought I was being savvy purchasing a build spot that put me 6 months earlier in line than if I had ordered directly from VO. Thought I'd get it in Summer of 2021.. then I found this thread. haha

It was suggested to me to post a link to my for-sale Nomad here, despite it being for a full-sized truck: Vagabond Nomad for 6.5' Bed For Sale

I hope this isn't breaking the rules since again this is for a full-size truck (i.e,. mine is currently on my 2.5 gen Tundra).

I remember originally following the Vagabond Drifter thread here before I bought this shell originally for my 99 Taco, and got all sorts of good information, and then I was on the waitlist for so long that I bought a Tundra in the interim, and then Vagabond started to introduce the full-size model so I switched to the Nomad about 12 months into the wait! It's crazy that the wait time is so long now. But anyway if anybody has an interest in a fully loaded Nomad in excellent shape for the 6.5' bed, please hit me up.

Haven't been in here for a minute. What the hell?! How did this happen? Your truck looks waaay too new for this... With truck issues, the Drifter and el niño on the way, these must be exciting times.

Anyone have any updates? To nobody’s surprise, it’s been two weeks since Phil told me my camper was in production/being welded together and that “they’d email me with a better timeframe (as to) when the camper will be done and ready for pick up” and I haven’t heard any update still.

I don’t have much time to actually pick up the camper as I can’t really pick it up after the first week, MAYBE second week of July. Which I have communicated with Phil. Anyone have any news? Hoping I don’t have to sell my finished camper without ever being able to even see it in person

Im two spots ahead of you And it’s been 5-6 months since the last time Phil had even responded to any of my emails. I’m heading down to the Bay Area end of June. Definitely gonna make a detour to the shop to see what’s going on.

I have not gotten much of an email response since purchasing the build spot from another use back in November and then a text message in January. I have been fortunate enough to talk to him twice via the calendly thing though. Unfortunately, my conversations over the phone match the trend many have experienced on here. Told one date/timeframe and experience a completely different one 2 or 3 times as long...

Hopefully some campers start rolling out soon considering the recent updates. Only 7 campers have been delivered off the spreadsheet this year.

Yeah seemed like they were getting some steam and ramping up, and then didn’t. It truly is bummer and a disappointment.

At this point I’ve given up hope of anything until the damn thing is done. At least I’m distracted by my engine swap project so I’m not as bothered for a little bit.

Phil called me a few weeks back about placement of the usb port and L track in the ceiling for my Ipad for movies/tv. Was still waiting on by back panel at that time. He did powder coat the whole thing for free and sent me pics. Looked great and made me want it more. Hope someday soon.

Why’d he powder coat for free?

Pretty sure Swatdude1 was in the batch of scratched panels that Phil didn't feel comfortable delivering raw.

Honestly feel bad that Phil has to powdercoat all these campers for free, but in hindsight was definitely glad to be in that boat. I don't think raw would have looked nearly as good on my white truck.

And as a side note, I get third party stressed viewing this thread nowadays because I used to monitor this shit so hard. I feel bad that not much has come since the spring batch that was seemingly a high point in things starting to pick up. So for those still waiting, nothing but empathy and hope you all get them soon. Not much consolation but the campers are even nicer than I was expecting and am still confident I made the right choice in September 2019 when I ordered it, and would do the same again all things considered

Here's an update, I got my Nomad camper number 158 delivered last October, and it's now 8 months later and I still haven't gotten my tent insulation pack. I'm once again reliving the nightmare that is trying to get any kind of response from Vagabond. I've even reached out directly to their subcontractor that makes the insulation packs and have emailed back and forth with the owner of that company who has confirmed to me that there is no backlog with them to actually produce the insulation packs, but he doesn't feel comfortable sending me a kit directly and billing Vagabond for it (I already paid Vagabond for the insulation pack about a year ago as part of my final camper invoice). I'm just so frustrated!

I'm also waiting to hear back from them for a quote/invoice for a replacement part that was broken when my truck was in the shop last August. I'll likely have to find a local welder to supply me a quote so I can get paid back from the shop before I can move on with the fix. (Not a fault with the Drifter, but "user error" at the shop when closing the roof when they should have never even touched the Drifter itself).
