Interesting, it has an electric brake booster, but the pump and valve body are separate from the reservoir, master cyl and accumulator.

Ask your manager to test fit set of 40s, for science purposes of course

Manager's truck? No donuts? How was the hybrid when drifting?

Lol as a person that "drives by ear" the engine going silent like that would just spook me.

'scuse me while I go hand crank my model T, and yell at some clouds.

Truth...as a pilot, engine going silent like that would require approx 2 inches of seat foam extraction from my sphincter while calling pan pan and looking for a suitable place to crash land

    Final thoughts on it-

    • I really like the new full digital dash. I thought I’d hate it, but I don’t.
    • New tow mirrors are freaking awesome. Really glad they listened to us on that one.
    • The low end grunt is awesome, almost diesel like.
    • Fuel mileage is still kinda sucky with the hybrid. 12-14L/100km on a stock truck. The GM twins are getting 6-8.5L/100km with the non hybrid diesels.
    • It’s FAST. Very fast.
    • Interior redesign is nice. Very easy to use and feels well constructed
    • Feels much much bigger than other 1/2tons. Would be hard to wheel in tight spaces.
    • Tech is fun.
Overall, If you aren’t a diesel guy, like me, you’d really like this power train. It’s smooth and powerful. Tons of grunt under 2k. If this gives us an insight into the next gen Tacoma hybrid, I’m VERY excited for the possibilities of that truck (I’m sure @Norilsk will test to see if those can go to 40s without a regear for us).

I remember the first time I experienced the auto-stop feature at a light. I thought the car stalled out. Have hated that ‘feature’ since.

Oh you are so right, and so many people share the same view too.

Driving sh&tboxes for years as a teenager or as a newly divorced dad, engine stopping at a red light or in traffic would cause a flashback and panic attack.
I'd be swivelling my head around looking for the jumper cables and quick start every time it happened. Lol at the pilots. Hope they got a Xanax dispenser option.

Being in stop and go traffic and listening to the car beside me re-start every 20 seconds just makes me cringe.

And seeing the access to where starters are stuffed on newer vehicles, makes me so want to go apologize to a mechanic.

I'm sorry @MaverickT883 . My prayers are with you.

So much truth in every statement there...

Only time my shitbox let me down at an intersection was a rural midnight stop sign. Timing belt snapped...talk about silent. Even the obvious attempt to initially start it...not silence, but oddly different sound.

1984. Couldn't surf TW while I walked to closest farmhouse to knock on their door (midnight, farm) asking for their wifi password to get on the net for rescue.

Nobody knows the troubles I've seen
    Nobody knows my sorrows...

    Volume controls on the wheel.

Is "Up" volume up or is it "right" for volume up?

this will make or break the deal.

I am the opposite, it’s like your TV volume bar, from left to right… remember, toyota engineers are still living in the 90s

it's actually how the volume bar works in the app.
the up and down cycle is best used for radio stations

Kids now a days will never know the fun of pouring gas into your carburator while your friend is cranking the engine... and getting your eyebrows removed in a flash.

The skillz to manipulate that manual choke to the only position with micron accuracy (position varies with temperature) that the car will start without flooding it.

Spraying silicone spray all over your ignition so your car will still run when it rains.

Oh man can you do great burnouts with bias ply tires.

Never had 4 wheel drum brakes to really understand what real brake fade was.

That you could stand inside your engine compartment to change your spark plugs.

The shelf in the back window was a great place to lie down when you were a kid.

Leaks squeaks whistles and pops where all part of a car's personality.

The proper way to stroke the dash and say 'cmon baby when you crank the engine.

How to adjust the dial radio to the 1/1000 of a degree to get the station so you could hear it over the static.

You could fit 6 friends in the trunk to get in the drive in theater.

How to push your car when it stops running.

Coke cans and pop rivets fits everything from the body to the exhaust.

Not working, no internet, no manual, figure it out.

You could run over a building and probably not dent your car.

Now no kid now knows the fear of holding a flashlight for your Dad while he's working on the car.

    Hrrmmmmph,
Those trips trough the windshield when dad hit the brakes got rid of the soft headed kids.
Adjusting the choke and the radio taught fine motor skills.
The social networking skills of being in an overstuffed trunk.
Keeping that sh$tbox running with pop cans and rivets taught adaptive engineering.
Pushing it everywhere, well thats just strength and cardio training.
Brakes fading taught stress management and advance planning.
Burned eyebrows taught chemistry and consequences.

    And the flashlight holding...
intuitive learning, (figuring out what the hell a starter thing was you were supposed to be pointing at,)
and reflexes, (when you had to dodge the backhand when you did not figure out what a starter was fast enough.)

Spoiled kids expect the car to start when you push a button, it to stop as soon as you hit the brakes. And it to be dry and quiet when they do so.

And can you actually believe, a lot of Jeep people now a days have never fixed their vehicle.

Yeah I know, used to be that if you knew a Jeep guy, you knew a person that could fix anything and had lots of tools.

That's what happens when you eliminate natural selection... now it's all man buns, crocs, and talk about feelings now.

Can't even outrun bears because of no cardio and crocs.

    Sneaking around in silent cars.

Sitting beside each other on the couch and texting each other.

All delicate like their cars, hit one squirrel and they are all broken up.

And that's why we have so many problems today!

Jk, I went back and looked. I was wrong. But it is at least a separate control.

I'm just annoyed the 3rd gen horn isn't easy to reach with thumbs with my hands in the 9- and 3 o'clock position, compared to the 2005-2011 steering wheel design. Playing the daily game of death on District 6ix highways, I use the horn a lot more often than audio controls.
