I my dad never got to really enjoy his retirement. He had a major heart attack and passed away soon after I was married. He did enjoy his family while he was here and left me prepared for life.

He used to say “ when you argue with a crazy person no one can tell the difference “ I have taken that one to heart. Especially when on the net. It translates into English funny but that’s the gist……

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!!

Looks like we need to add a "Play Nice With Others" rule to the porch behavior standards.....sad since we never needed it before.

Hope the surgery relieves the issue @Travlr ! Keeping you in my thoughts today.

Oh the wonders of Motrin and steroids!! My shoulder felt so good that I went out and filled four 5 gal gas cans for the mowers, cut the grass around the farm and picked up the clippers, weed whacked as I went with the new trimmer I carry on the zero turn and then got out the pressure washer and cleaned off the patio furniture, porch and garage down at the farmhouse. About the time I finished it hit me that I was probably going to pay the price for over-doing it......but I'm actually feeling good this morning. I think I will take it easier today, though.

    Be safe out there!!

Truck A/C compressor bit the dust yesterday morning. A cascading event, taking out several other non-related fuses. Dash lit up like a Christmas tree. I'll let the shop fix this one. It was the original compressor, not bad for an '06.
    Send the rollback, please. :spending:

:pccoffee:  Good morning fellow cool old dudes, Susan, pets, strays, walk-ons, wannabes, lurkers, and whoever else is out there. We've been getting the kind of weather that barely requires air conditioning -- although I have been running it in our lower level to keep the humidity under control. Rain overnight and today will hopefully help the woeful patch jobs we did in the yard where the ash trees used to be. Might be a day to curl up with a good book.

Been hot as heck here all week. Finally cooled down last night and is only going to be in the low 80s today. I'm off on vacation so today I'm going to do what I call the Grand Torino ride along the lake. Remember the ending of the movie grand torino when toad and daisy the dog are driving along the lake in the grand torino? That's where I live, I'm gonna do that ride on the ebike today.

All this talk about shingles has me making an appointment for my first shot next week. I was going to do it in April, but other issues popped up.

Did a Bison ribeye for dinner last night. First time I tried Bison and it was tasty.

We are leaving for the Maryland beach area today. My sister has a place in Ocean Pines and we are spending the weekend with her and her son. I think I am on the hook for wall mounting a TV in one of the bedrooms. Should be a fun weekend.

Hmmm, must be something in the water; my 2006 just needed a compressor replacement last week due to it leaking refrigerant; yeah, not cheap.

Good morning Ivan, Very dear friends of mine had a Grand daughter born with a tumor on her brain stem. Doctors told the parents to take her home and make funeral arrangements. Her parents wouldn't accept that and moved from Pittsburgh PA to Philadelphia to go to a doctor that specializes in these types of tumors. He told them the tumor at the time was inoperable but through treatment they could shrink it and in the future operate. In the meantime, the Pope visited Philadelphia and they were there. It was seen by many of the Pope touching and kissing a baby and alas that was her. Now 8 years later this little lady is still with her family and even though she has issues, she is the happiest and loving person her age I know. I tell folks that her heart is bigger than she is. So to you Ivan I say God Speed and God Bless you. I don't consider my self a religious person, but when it comes to Giana I do believe.

    Good :rain: Morning all.
Wishing you the best on your surgery @Travlr . Keep us posted on recovery.
Reading all the back posts about illnesses and such I hope everyone is finally doing good.

I think we need to change Tom's screen name from 95SLE to Chef Tom...:hungry::drool:

Okay, we need to lighten up with the bickering. Everyone has opinions about things posted here but the one thing we need to do is Respect each others opinions and not rebut them. This is a great group with many different talents, ideas and life experiences so lets get along folks.
Life is good and as we get older our time is getting shorter for us to not enjoy it. Nuff said.

Hope you all have a great day and be safe.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Gal!
Chef Tom, indeed. I'll second that. I aspire!
Glad to hear a great steroid story Mark - I remember when I first got knee injections it seemed to do that, after a while...not so much! But your chores are done.
    And good luck @Travlr!
And to quote Ken; "Life is good, relaxin' on the porch!!" Let's keep it that way!
As for me today, not much but store and Putz. And pool.
