New England B.S. Thread

I have a few trips coming up that I need the tent for, but I don't do a whole lot of driving these days anyhow. I fueled up the truck on Monday 6/20, prior to that the last fuel-ups were 6/6, 5/23 and 5/9. So roughly every two weeks I'm filling the tank.

I did not get the tie rod sleeves, but I'm intrigued by them.

 

Gotcha. The truck is my daily, so I'm trying to keep the heavier items off, but we shall see how that goes once the front bumper comes in.

 

Yeah, it's still my daily, I just don't go out far or often these days.

 

My 1.5 mile commute is the shortest I think I can possibly pull off without working from home. And I think if I worked from home I'd go stir crazy. Even shorter that 10 minute ride/drive to and from the office is a separation from home and work, and a moment of "oh this is then outdoors". If I was working from home I'm sure I'd be going to the farthest sensible grocery store just to "get out". Other than "fun" trips (VT, treehouse, etc) my June work mileage on the trick is like....12.

 

My commute is 12 miles or so but I only drive in every other day so it's not too bad.



Of course I drive a hell of a lot more than that but it's not in MY truck! Lol

I’ve been thinking about one for the side like that. I got a 6x8 for the back because I love cooking and making coffee. And I hate standing in the rain. Almost too wide, but any narrower and it wouldn’t have worked for shit. I finally put wing nuts and lock washers on it so I can throw it in the back on trails. Otherwise it’s asking to get ripped right off.

I don't get too extreme in my wheeling, but I've not had any issues with it there. Now that the snorkel is on it's actually making it a little less likely that the awning would be a problem without the snorkel or air cleaner getting pulled off first.

 

I have worked from home for about 9 years now - I have a good routine, but its pretty tough to not slip into the office when its 9 at night and I am still thinking about a project. However I do have the freedom to go for a bike ride or play a round of golf mid day as I live and die by my own deadlines. Sometimes I'll take a Friday off but have worked more than my fair share of weekends to keep everything moving along.

There are certainly days where I miss working in an office, but the days when I am not being bothered by coworkers or can sit on the couch for lunch more than make up for it. I like being at home and have my space for everything so I don't get too stir crazy that often.

 

I’ve thought about that also… we’ll see what happens! Next week in Big Levels should be a good gauge. The brush is supposedly very thick along the sides of the trails. Trails look pretty tame themselves though.
