    icicle lights are a pain in the ass the first year you use them...and they look like shit at first because they don't hang very nicely. just hung them on my mom's house, have fun :)

    If you take them out and put them right on in the cold, they won't straighten out. Will, you could take them out and lay them in the house or heated garage for a few days and keep stretching them until they finally are kinda straight. I did that with ours the first year and they did ok.

    Be careful with cold shingles.

    For the edges of the house that has gutters, they also make some plastic clips that snap right on the gutters. They will cost a little more, but find a good place to save them and re-use every year.
