I can't tell you why, but that one landed more than any previous use of that phrase. There was something about it that instantly recalled Alec Guinness.

Well overall I thought Kenobi was pretty damn good. Had it's flaws but I think the nostalgia of seeing the characters interact and all of that erased them for me. A few episodes were worse than the others but I still liked it, after the final episode I really don't know what they could do for a second season. I wanted a second one before that last episode but I really think it tied it up nice; the last time he was called Obi-Wan was by Leia (brings a whole new meaning to that scene in A New Hope), Vader seems done looking for Kenobi (could've been handled better). Short of having him train more with Qui-Gon and bringing in Ashoka somehow I really don't see a way for them to need a second season since you've got 10 years until A New Hope Starts. If they didn't have this as a 10 year jump and maybe a 5-6 (could explain why Leia doesn't really remember much of Obi-Wan) they could make a second season but without a direct interaction with Vader IMO as it would hamper the final episode.

There's plenty of time for obi wan to do completely unconnected adventures to the main story line. Now he's not so connected to Luke, he can go have a drink with Quinlan, etc. I was really annoyed that the last episode made up for 5 shitty ones. However, that portrayal of Vader, Obi Wan using the force like a wizard, Qui Gon, made it up. I actually liked the Grand Inquisitor, but the argument that they couldn't get his makeup right has even more validity now because HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING. The introduction of the third sister was pointless, her redemption arc was too short to have any impact.

That was definitely worthy of "I was but the learner" because he schooled his ass pretty good

That's true, I guess I still figured Ben would stick around but not "living" for/near Luke. Because Luke knows of Ben but there's no way he meets him once and has that "good" of a connection to him. Sort of like a distant relative you see once every 4-5 years.

Hated the Grand Inquisitor in Rebels because he was such a good villan so yeah they could do some more with him but agreed he was in it for like all of 20 minutes so get the damn costume right. I feel like they're going to do more with the 3rd sister, too much backlash immediately so they'll reintroduce her later in a different series or something I think.

Didn't even think of that, gotta go back and watch A New Hope now. I did like how they blew his helmet off just like in Rebels and you could see a mangled Anakin.

Thing that pisses me off is....why didnt he just kill him and he would have saved everyone years of Vaders bullshit. All he had to do was hit him in the head with another rock for fuck sake. Rant over.

And yes, if he killed vader then the rest of the movies are null and void.

Obi Wan really didn't like killing. Aside from all the faceless troopers, he wasn't an executioner and took his Jedi vows pretty seriously. In the book Brotherhood he wouldn't even allow the killing of a terrorist ready to blow up a bunch of innocent people. It just wasn't his character trait to execute. At least when he "high grounded" him the first time, it was an active battle. To just "off with his head" would have been a path to the darkside. And besides, it's a fictional universe with a movie that came out 40 years ago without a plan. Can't kill Vader now

I think that they can tell a whole lot of story with Reva and the fledgling rebels in a season 2, should they do one. No Vader needed, nor the twins. But lots of sneaking around and setting the groundwork that Andor will operate in.

I think for season 2 they’ll bring in something with Maul coming back, I know they covered Obiwan killing him in rebels already but idk… fans would love to see more live action Maul.

That's always been the argument, same with survivable blaster shots. That's why there's still moderate mobility after "involuntary limb removal."

It's a lot easier to survive if you're not bleeding out.
