Getting some J pipes done on her today to defeat this last bit of drone that remains.

Ignore the dirtiness. It was leaking for a week while I was getting the rest of the system sent to me. It's been sealed. :D

    PXL_20220623_145643452.jpg

EDIT: All done and drone is about 98% gone now after adding in some sound deadener in select hollow locations of the trunk and backseat. I'm very happy with the outcome! :)

I just got my truck back after making an exhaust swap. I originally wanted to go with one resonator to my new magnaflow xmod muffler to my current stainless works muffler. The tech said i didn’t have enough room for the 2 mufflers. I ended up sticking with 2 resonators and connected those to the new xmod muffler. It’s a little louder than I had it or wanted it. However, my drone is gone so I’m ultimately happier.

He said you didn't have room for two mufflers? o_O

Regardless. I'm glad you got it taken care of. Drone is the worst thing to deal with!

I've been seeing these J pipes on the more popular exhausts for the Tundra too. What exactly do they do to help with drone? I've never seen them before a few months ago.

I also didn’t have room for a second muffler. Just barely didn’t. Well actually a third silencer technically. Was a bit miffed because I bought one and thought I’d measured correctly (office engineer method - build first measure later)

This is a Helmholtz of sorts. @scootter82 it helps cut down drone if any exists if a user is otherwise happy with their sound setup by allowing a portion of the gasses passing through to go in the pipe, travel all the way up it, then back down and out it's original path without disturbing airflow as a whole.

Apparently A LOT of the Camaro aftermarket exhaust setups minus Borla and Corsa induce drone. If you go with any other type of mufflers there is a high chance you will. A lot of it has to with the fact that the metal that they use in the trunk and the backseat area is very hollow and not insulated in any way, shape, or form from the factory.

How do you guys not have room for a second? Despite my battery being down there we managed to fit up a second muffler no problem on mine to make the true dual setup.

Because they're in series all on one side.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
I see there are some details on page 1 for the supercharger belt pulley bearings. Anyone have a good suggestion, or good feedback on the main accessory belt bearing replacements? I seem to be able to find the normal idler pulley bearings just fine. But the main tensioner uses a 17x40x17.5 bearing. The tensioner pulley is not available from Toyota unless you buy the whole tensioner which I'd like to not do... the bearing is part number 5203-2rs-c3. Googling I can find plenty of cheap straight from china versions available. Wanting a really good quality that has a chance of lasting like OEM. FAG? NSK? Other?

This NSK is $83 shipped for the bearing only.
    https://www.qualitybearingsonline.com/5203-2rstnc3-nsk-double-row-angular-contact-17x40x17-5mm/

This FAG is $60 shipped for bearing only.
    https://www.123bearing.com/bearings-5203-2RS-C3-FAG

Anyone know of something that is better/more than the $15 pile of crap, but less than $60 gold? What brand would you choose and why?

Edit: here is an example of what I'd call a cheapie.. not much chance of long term life on the tensioner. But this is probably still better than the Amazon ones

    Thanks in advance...

Putting in the zzperformance intercooler pump this weekend. Pretty pumped hahah! What is the best way to flush the intercoolant out (want to put in new coolant) and prime the pump so I don’t dry it out?

thoughts are disconnect the input hose on the inter coolant res. to drain.. change out old pump with new..connect input hose.. then dump new intercoolant in res as pump is on.

    That sound about right?

Any of y'all know if the Shelby F150 is 775hp at the CRANK or the WHEEL? As far as I can tell from articles it says "engine delivers 775hp" So I'm assuming crank...I just want to make sure my Tundra will be a Shelby killer lol. Dyno numbers on the built s/C's put it around 500+ so crank should be around 700(?)

Saw at espresso & exhaust this morning

It might be capable of some 680 but you gotta factor in how heavy it looks and based on how pig-ish it looks I'm going to say it indeed IS a pig.

I just put on new wheels this morning and dropped ~8.6 lbs per wheel... Truck must have gained like 50hp at the butt dyno.
