    Yessir. They rigged up a pump that feeds the gas into the main filler neck

    Pretty sure 2 quarts should do it but having an extra quart around couldnt hurt. But a lot depends on how well you purge the rack of the old fluid. Personally I did a really poor job and the first time around my "new" fluid turned almost back to the original red color. The new fluid is a yellowish/clear color. So I did it a second time. Pretty sure I had 4 quarts and still had some left over at the end. I have a feeling that this wasnt as helpful as it should be....sorry.

    I was actually wondering about this myself. How did you “purge” the rack? Just cycle the steering a few times and let the fluid drain?

    That’s what I did. But my guess is I didn’t do it enough to get all the stock fluid out. Not really sure myself what needs to be done to ensure the best purge of all the fluid.

    It’s in the instructions for the pump but you basically cycle the steering back and forth with the truck off and on stands. That’s my understanding anyways.
