Is this too much rust if I'm going to be using the truck for a year?

    Prices are honestly ludicrous right now... Can't find anything under 20k that's not got over 350,000kms or rusted out

    As long as you don't go over any bumps that frame will be fine.

    the second one looked good...rebuilt titles arent a big deal IF they have the receipts...but yeah the first one...not in a million years..

    I'd be looking at the location on the passenger's side near the catalytic converter to see if there's a hole there. Inside section near the convert and make sure there's no hole there. The moisture drain for the air conditioner is on that side and the drain is located right above the right-side frame rail. The moisture drains onto the top rail and I suspect it enters the frame through the two holes on the top just behind where the drain drips the moisture onto the frame. I suspect this along with the heat from the catalytic converter contributes to the rusty section there. Sometimes bad enough to rust a hole through. Toyota design defect.
