The infamous werty.... lol.... his trap speeds are low compared to ours but that is because he has a bit of an advantage.... first of all he is automatic and second of all he launches in 4 hi...... He is the fastest taco I now of though. He ran e85 on that run. So if I was to run e85 on my set up and get good traction I could see myself running around that time. i'm hoping to trap 106 - 107...... and be around the 12.9 - 13.0 area. Your 60' means a lot in a drag strip. You can trap 110 and still run 13.0s..... This guy has almost maxed out his kit and he has already built his transmission. He has a crap ton more than I do invested into his taco. If I had his money I would be one of the fastest xrunner's known right now.

I wouldn't mind doing like a 20 roll against this guy and see where I stand.... but off the line would be like racing anthony.... just plain unfair. lol

What are you selling it for? Getting something else? Its a fair price for a nice gun. I never warmed up to the GAP cartridge though.

In other news, here's my new baby::)

Wow! congrats on the new baby!;) have you gotten the chance to break it in yet?

Yeah i'm looking to get something in a 9..i enjoyed the .45gap its a decent round..I;ve been looking at some CZ guns.

The Cz phantom and the Cz po7 duty is what i'm really interested it..i'd like to get the Po7 first just for the size and then save up for the Cz75 sp-01 phantom for combat shooting...but thats way down the road lol

Nope, not broken in yet. Its a brand new Kahr T9. Its their "full size" even though its the same height and length as a medium frame Glock. Its really for my wife who has tiny hands and not a big fan of recoil. Because of a single stack mag, Kahrs have a short reach to a nice smooth trigger. They are simplistic without any safeties or anything to f with. Just point and shoot. I got the 9mm in a heavy all steel version to minimize recoil for her. A good home defense gun for her that she can sport shoot without pain and/or developing a flinch.

Can't go wrong with CZ. Good guns. Glocks are too though.

Nice! i've been looking around for a good compact pistol for the girlfriend. she's also not a fan of recoil either. We were opt'ing for a XD 9mm 4" barrel. Just last weekend we had the chance to shoot our friends XD .45 acp and boy the recoil is almost like a 9mm, it was unbelievable!

Do you buy your firearms locally? or through the net?

I've found that my hands work better with the CZ grip more than the glock. The glock(no doubt a great gun) comes with decent grips but straight out of the factory i'd have to say that CZ grips are much better for me.

Xd's are great. Maybe even have her check out the slim hk. I can't remember the model name. Then have her hold a kahr. I can almost promise she'll love it. They have like a million models but basically it comes down to large (medium size), compact (size of a baby glock but thinner), and small (mouse guns). All three can be had in 9, 40, or 45. They also have the two bigger sizes in polymer or steel frame. The smallest only come in polymer. They also have mega tiny 380's. I'd suggest sticking to the two larger sizes unless concealment is an issue.

9's have the least recoil (high pressure but small bullet), 45's are next (big bullet but low pressure), and 40's have the sharpest recoil (high pressure and big bullet).

I virtually always buy at a wonderful shop nearby. Honest, friendly staff that always takes good care of me in the pricing because I'm a regular. I've bought one gun on gunbroker.com because my guys simply couldn't get a hold of what I wanted at the time.

You're wise in going with the gun that fits you best and not what you think is the coolest. Nobody will ever say anything bad about a glock but some people just don't like the raked grip angle. Do the old trick of grabbing a gun and holding it by your side, close your eyes and bring it up to the line of fire, then open your eyes. Are you looking straight down the sights or is it slightly pointing up or down? If it lines up, it fits.

Yeah we'll be sure to hit the range some more to get a hold and feel for some more guns just to be 100% sure on our purchase. Let me know how well that Kahr shoots after you've put more rounds through it!

The only place here in town that i can go to regularly to get decent service is Charlies sporting goods but their prices are $100 more than prices online. Other than that i've been to sportsmenswarehouse and stood at the gun counter waiting for service for 30min..and yes i was the only one there..3 guys behind the counter and not one word was said to me..i only got dirty looks..lol until i came back the last time with my lady..boom instant service..

For me the glocks grip angled my wrist to a point where it hurt to shoot, and i couldn't hit a damn thing..but then again i'm not the best "Shot" lol i got the chance to shoot my buddys cz 75b for the first time and i was able to land 14 out of 15 in the chest area at 15yds( thats a A++ in my book :D). I totally missed the first shot due to not being used to DA/SA guns..

We need a off road/ shooting day lol how big of a collection do you have???

    Good and will do.

Sorry to hear that. My guys will match net prices + whatever it would cost to get it to me (sometimes better). They do it with a smile too.

Sounds like Glocks definitely aren't for you. You should definitely be shooting straighter. Maybe consider a 9mm yourself. Don't worry, it doesn't make you less of a man. Would you rather put three 9's in the chest or spray a hand cannon all over the place and hit everything but the bad guy?

Bigger than it needs to be.:)

I'm much more comfortable with the 9mm than the 45gap thats for sure. I've been through the whole ".45 is better, 9mm is weak" situations and settled for the 9mm for costs and with a 9mm i find that my follow up shots are much faster..plus with the right ammunition(http://www.extremeshockusa.com/cgis...oduct_info.html&setup=1&cart_id=5430908.15684..Give them a look they cost some $$ though) and the right amount of gun safety and skill i'm not worried.

This thread seems to have died out lol

It's easy to get caught up in the "you need a bazooka to kill them and anything less will bounce off of them" argument. It's idiots on the Internet that fuel that fire. "Get the biggest gun YOU can shoot well" is the only argument that matters. I can handle recoil but my wife can't. For years, I've thought she'd get used to big. She didn't. In fact, she got worse and she damn near quit shooting all together because it wasn't fun. A hit with a 380 will cause far more damage than a miss with a 45. People have been killed by 9, and less, since the cartridges were invented. Law enforcement and militaries kill people all day long with those gay little pee shooters.

I stay away from exotic ammo. Just get some Speer Gold Dots and call it good. They succeed at every test ever done. Most of the other premium hollow points do well too.

Yep, thread's dead. All my wheeling buddies pretty much left and I spend most of my time on another site. Oh well. I keep an eye on it though. It may make a come back.

I'm pretty much a walking encyclopedia on guns. I'll gladly help, Dom. Deciding between long range and assault is like deciding between a truck and a sports car. They're so different that they almost can't even be held in the same conversation. Decide what you want to do with it. Do you want to go to the range and blow dollars down range while making a lot of noise? Its fun and a great stress reliever. Or does taking hours to yourself to focus on extreme precision of equipment and technique appeal more to you? Its also a nice escape for those that are into getting lost in their own little world.

Well, if semi-auto it is then next thing to consider is cost of ammo. You should probably stick with something chambered in 223 (your typical AR rifles and what not) or even something like a carbine shooting handgun cartridges (beretta cx4 storm or even the cool style of a tommy gun). The larger calibers are awesome but very expensive to shoot. My 308 military rifles are amazing but I can blow off a hundred dollars worth of ammo in 15 minutes. Needless to say, I don't shoot them a lot. Its kind of anti-climactic to choose a gun based on that but its a reality.

BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH! Sorry, missed some of this thread.

Hieu, let me know about the CZ, I have a good friend in phoenix who is the us sales manager for cz, I can probably get you helped out. Disregard my PM, I'm sorry, I forgot that the 37 was GAP, I thought it was auto.

Dom -- your best bet these days go get a good rifle is either AR, like Greg, or AK. You can build a damn strong AR for about 1200, you can buy the same one for 3000. You can build a good pinkin' gun for about 700, or buy it for 800-1500. I love AR's. .223 ammo is pretty cheap, however not the cheapest on the block. You can buy an AK47 for about 450 bucks, and ammo is outrageously cheap -- typically, I'll buy mine in 1000rd bunches for about 200 bucks. If you want a glam rifle, definitely go AR. If you want a workhorse, AK. Both are good rifles. The AK is simpler to maintain, has less moving parts, and typically will last you longer. It's a bit less accurate. The bullets have a better ballistic profile, if you're shooting at an armored car. Both are hella fun to shoot. Both will soon be illegal, too. So get while the gettin's good.
