It will be a race to see who gets there's built and installed first. Mine came in yesterday.

 

Are you going to clock the rear case? I think that's going to add to the difficultly of my install.

Plus whatever else I talk myself into like cutting out the factory tcase xmember and building new skids.

Not planning to clock it currently. We will see if I change my mind when I test fit everything. Yeah I should have you beat since all that stuff is mostly done for me. I'm hoping I don't even have to mess with my drive shafts but we will see how close they are. This box is just a little shorter than marlin.

 

Hey did you every figure this out? I am having the same thing happen and trying to adapt to it. Seems like if you get it into neutral this happens, but if you put it into park instead, it doesnt happen.

that's not really figuring it out. that's just getting rid of the problem

 

yeah had to be patient. Wait after putting the truck in neutral for everything to unload. Maybe take my foot off the break for everything to unbind and then quickly or just in one motion shift from high to low or low to high. Haven’t grinded them in a long time once I figured it out.

and when shifting from drive to park or reverse while in low, shift to neutral. Feel the truck unload and then to park or reverse. There’s just so much force and so much is bound up you have to be patient and gentle

 

No more little cases and it was time for front digs.

 

My Atlas shifts great, you’re going to love it. Are you going to run the cable shifters or the linkage setup?

 

Yeah, that makes sense. Kinda need to relearn how to operate things. So you are able to shift out of 4lo from neutral? I need to go to neutral then park, then out of lo

 

i haven’t ordered shifters yet but should be able to use the linkage. Trying to avoid cable shifters as they always see, to have issues.

yes. With one quick shift from low to high it’ll go. Just have to let everything unload. I’ve even been getting good at getting it out of 4wd into 2 while everything is bound up with my twin sticks. A lot of it is just a blip of the throttle and a quick push of the levers.

 

Good to know you can shift from neutral. Just want to avoid that grind.

 

Yep. Just push with pressure and push through the tcase “neutral”. If you shift half ass or go from low to “neutral” to high; it’ll always grind/not want to go into gear.

 

Ahh thats the ticket. I end up with the crawl box in neutral and get stuck there.

 

Hey guys I got my nwfab box in and am going to use a jshift as a donor. The case that’s in my truck now is the electronic shift with the ball style- am I able to twin stick my electronic case and use spade type sticks in it?

 

Did you reach out to nwfab and ask them? Dunno what kind of documentation that unit comes with.

 

I have not asked them about this since it doesn’t have to do with their product.

 

Couldn't hurt to ask because they do offer a triple stick setup that operates the rear case. They would probably know what would or wouldn't work for that

No. The electronic case has the shifters going through the middle of the case. the J shift case would have shifters at the top. You cannot twin stick the electronic case as far as I know.

You should be able to put the electronic case behind the NWF box no problem if you have the correct base and lid. I am in the middle of my build right now but highly suggest you read over instructions on their site and give a call to speak with Kris over there. He will answer all your q's.
