Why isn't there any BEV mini vans on the market?

I think there's a pug in hybrid Pacifica from Chrysler, that's a hybrid. And what ever BEV van VW wants to sell, which isn't available yet and is not really a mini van.

Is it because EV start ups, are too cool for the mini van crowed? Is it because families don't have time, or money to waste on going electric? Is it because EVs are not really practical for most people?

There has to be a reason why manufacturers are not investing in the BEV mini van market place.

Saw one of the Rivian vans yesterday on the freeway. Mind you, it was strapped down onto a lowboy, but I still seent it.

What's wrong with PHEVs? The Pacifica only gets about 30miles of range, though. Wish they'd put the Rav4 Prime battery pack into the Sienna AWD (they share the same drive components)

What's wrong with PHEVs? That's a terrible acronym.

Nothing wrong with plug in hybrids. I was wondering why there are no all electric mini vans.

Mini vans are not the most popular body style of vehicle out there.

Oh yeah…70 Series makes much more sense to me than the Sequoia or the LC200/300. Toyota boggles my mind sometimes what they are offer for the US market. Why does the Sequoia even exist when the Land Cruiser has a legendary nameplate. Wish they stayed more to their roots, than trying to go after the Tahoe/F150 market.

This is a little more my speed.

It doesn't have 12 DVD players for the shitlins riding in the four rows of seats. Not going to sell well in America.

Wonder if it have any of the features that the FT-4X had, a lot of cool ideas. See it being super handy as run around town car and trailhead camper.

Like the utility interior. Those small city vans makes a lot of sense to me, but no one offers an AWD version. This could be a good middle ground.

    Awesome factory!

I'm just thinking out loud. How is Rivian going to turn a profit? I would think a 2022 Toyota Tacoma, would probably cost 1/10th of the cost it would for Rivian to build a 2022 R1T.

Toyota is losing money in 2022, they have more places to lose money than Rivian, but Toyota built a lot more Tacomas in 2021 than Rivian did RT1s.

I'm not trying to discredit Rivian, as they built an automotive. company from nothing.

I doubt Rivian expects to turn a profit for many years. It took Tesla 18 years to have an entire year of profitability.

106 already, or is that the reserve I always for get who that site works.

I don't think the Lighting is worth paying over MSRP, I don't think they are worth MSRP.

It will be interesting to see what it sells for.

One think I noticed that I haven't before is the Lighting has front tow hooks like a traditional truck. Toyota could put tow hooks on their ice trucks

I think the Pro version has a very fair MSRP for what you get. And if you can get a tax credit makes it even more enticing. They do start to get out of control pretty quickly from there though. But so does pretty much every new truck.

Pro isn't bad, it's probably cheaper than a comparably equiped powerboost XL in the same configuration, I think I'd rather have the powerboost. Chances of getting a Lightning Pro outside of a fleet order, are probably lower than getting a Tacoma Pro in the exclusive color for that year. Presumably.

Lariat and Platinum trim Lightings only seem to price out not to far from their powerboost counterparts, powerboost being the most expensive engine choice for the F-150.

I like the ice F-150, I wouldn't mind having the powerboost option, the Lightning does not really do anything better than the traditional trucks to justify rhe expense, and lack of options like cabin and bed size.

    IMO everything is overpriced.

It makes a pretty handy home battery pack for an offgrid solar install... :p
