Same here. I try to buy u.s made as much as possible. I'm sure texas employed its share of workers of mexican heritage.

Mine was made in Baja. I’ll be taking her on a 9 day trip back to her homeland one week from today!AD2C5CB3-0BA7-48C8-AA0F-B919817B9552.jpg

I think just about all the double cabs for 2020 were built in mexico. Even lots of access cab sr 4 bangers were to, when i was looking at tacoma's at the time. They had that #3 vin number when i looked at them.

I'd drive a truck built by a woman, why not? :notsure:

I'd rather see jobs go to Texas, or another US state. Nothing wrong with Toyota producing vehicles in Mexico, although that opens the door to give domestic built vehicles more consideration, even when I'm not as found of the manufacturer.

I don't care who builds the vehicle, or product as long as it's a quality product. Some of this wokeness being pushed by the manufacturers is rather trivial, as far as the product goes. Quality and pricing is the only thing I care about, it's a product. Even when I'm not against a diverse work force.

At the end of the day, I care about quality and price more than manufacturing location, too. My 4Runner was built in Japan.

But if everything else is equal, and I get to choose between a product built in the USA versus anywhere else, I’ll pick the USA.

However, having said all of that, the 4Runner is the best built vehicle I’ve ever had. It’s a 2016 and still drives like new. It’s still worth what I paid for it. And even better, my significant other decided to keep driving it over a new BMW 540i. She’s a keeper. :D

I bought two of the exact same shirts online about a month ago, on the same order. One shirt fit perfect and was made in Mexico. The other was about two sizes too small, a completely different fabric and was made in El Salvador. Strange.

Lovely truck. How’s the white paint? I really want a white truck but am terrified by the peeling issue.

Don't let the few stories here scare you. My 2021 white is fine. Remember, when something is good nobody posts. When something is bad everyone posts. So, unless you see 100K posts on bad Toyota white paint, I wouldn't worry. I didn't.

My son’s MGM Taco was built in early January in Guanajuato - it has been flawless. My Taco was built on June 6 in Baja, but still unfortunately has not shipped. I can hopefully have a side by side comparison within a few weeks.

I have a 2015 in white and it looks great. White is my favorite color on a vehicle. Look at any early 90s vehicle in green, blue, red, black, etc. All the other colors fade, clear coat chips, but white still looks good. That's been the case for me at least. I work in the automotive industry and I see tons of cars everyday

I will say the white seems to have an unusual number of issues with paint. I was just on Reddit and I asked a guy who posted a white taco about the paint — he went to his garage to look and …
Peeling around windows. Then I go on YouTube and a guy posts about it and the people posting comments about their white tacos having issues is a mile long

    @TacoRancher
My 22 month old white Taco has no flaws except those damned yellow spots. Bee poop?
    WTbloodyF is that stuff?
    And THANKS for the compliment!

Again... Check the numbers. A mile long sounds like legal speak. 347 sounds like engineering speak, which I am. You choose.

I hear you. I’m an engineer and a lawyer, but anyway. I think what got to me was the fact I randomly made a comment about a white tacoma on Reddit where the dude posted about something entirely unrelated.. and he goes and checks and finds it peeling. The odds of that. Anyway, I do still agree with you and will get white regardless on my next truck.

My 2018 tacoma was built in baja drove it for 60k problem free miles before I sold it. They have been building them for a good minute in Mexico so I'm sure they got all the kinks out by now. If it was their 1st year of production I would be worried so my vote goes to baja just because they have been building them longer

Either way Toyota should offer the factory delivey option. Pick your new Tacoma up from the factory and drive it home

    Huh imagine that.
    Engineer and lawyer?
I'm a engineer and porn star so we got a dual profession in common.
