Yeah arguably.

I will say I can get better cuts with a battery skill saw because the cord doesn't hang up and jerk it sideways in the last foot which has happened way too many times, but I'm not a carpenter so only need to make a few rips here and there, I need a battery powered sawzall because the junkyard won't let me bring in any grinders and I'm not dragging a 150 plus pound generator around a dirt lot to maybe power a sawzall if needed, the battery leaf blower allows and string trimmer allow me to go everywhere in the yard without having to backtrack two dozen times to move the extension cord that's just 5 feet to short every time and in all those instances I'm not worried about the cord snagging, tangling up, or cutting but yeah some things you just can't beat the runtime of plug in with when runtime is what you need.

I absolutely love shockwave bits! Coworkers who apparently don’t know how to apply pressure decided to round off my shockwave bits and gave me this one that shattered.

 

Funny you should mention shockwave bits, I had totally forgotten until I was using it to replace a ceiling fan just now that I do have another Milwaukee tool!

I hear cordless heat guns go through the battery fast/don't last long
and pretty much last for one or two jobs, if that.

definitely looks nice to not be attached to a cord, and able to set it rightside up on the battery without burning anything though

I wonder if a good middle ground is to just upgraded corded one, and which is good - maybe still Milwaukee

 

I have the cordless heat gun that I got for free as part of a promotion when I bought a PEX expander tool. I would rate it as not very useful due to short battery life and weak air flow. It's good for heat shrink tubing and excellent for thawing out frozen locks in the winter where it's a pain to use a plug in gun.

 

Which battery pack are you planning on using?

 

How's the 8.0 working out for you?

Do you feel like you need a bigger battery pack?

 

I have the High Output XC8 that came with the trimmer and two HO XC6 batteries too and that seems to be enough for me to trim all around my acre of property, really the one XC8 and half a XC6 is about enough.

Don't feel like I need a bigger one but they do make a HO XC12.

The trimmer is lighter quieter and less fuss than my gas trimmer.

 

I read there's a lot issue with XC8, Have you experience any issues?

Does the weed eater feel heavy? I tried a gas powered Toro weed eater, It felt a little heavy where the spool is. It felt really unbalance, and awkward.

I would have to buy a whole kit. The biggest battery pack I have is the XC 5.0.

 

Again another tool I would prefer corded on is any heat device.

Milwaukee does make a nice digital set readout plug in heat gun though.
