Ah, another man of culture - you clearly have the best taste.

Simple scenario, imo. If you trade in, you'll be selling high...but if you buy another vehicle, chances are you'll be buying high too, so it's awash. If you don't replace it with another vehicle or don't need to, then it's an actual win.

Personally, I like to buy vehicles and keep them for a long durarion of time, assuming something doesn't go catastrophically wrong. Makes for a better long term financial outlook too.

Very true. I bought my '15 in '20 because it had already gone through the largest depreciation hit, and I fully expect it to last me a decade at minimum and possibly longer. When I started looking at used trucks, I kept seeing extremely high mileage (>300k) Tacomas for sale at far higher prices than comparatively lower mileage trucks from all other brands. That pretty much made up my mind to go with a used Tacoma as a long term ride.

Finally home ( a day late, thanks Air Canada). What a great trip minus the airports. The main areas we visited were
    In France: Paris, and Monaco
In Italy: Vinci, Florance, The Vatican, Pisa, Rome, Sorrento, Capri, Pompei, and Naples
Was a very packed 2 weeks, glad to be home!

My truck also didn't magically wash the pipeline dirt off from the last trip while on vacation :(

Definitely helps to make sure when buying that those type of jackets are intended for rain use. Columbia has confusing tag labels which can be frustrating. I still love their stuff because we have an outlet store here and it's hard to beat for the money, and the cut fits well for short guys like me.

Even the best raincoats are only waterproof to a certain point and will wet out eventually. Same goes for things like tents made of high tech synthetic materials. Look up "hydrostatic head" if you want to go down that rabbit hole.

It was. The coliseum in Rome was on my bucket list. Another I really liked and was never on my radar was the ruins in Pompei from the Mt. Vesuvius eruption in 79 AD. Just mind blowing stuff.

We saw so much, it'll take a while to catalog all the pics and videos. It was really hard to grasp the age of things we saw.

The one last thing I'd love to see is our luggage. Probably still in Rome since we had a few connecting flights missed because of delays as well as canceled flights.

that’s what I am thinking plus the wife put a shit load of miles on in a year and a half and her new jobs she doesn’t a lot anymore so the new one would stay low miles a lot longer.

I was shocked when my luggage arrived with me on my flight to and back. I’ve never really had issues with luggage but I’ll definitely have an AirTag packed on future trips.. just in case

Little taste of off-road racing for any of you who haven't seen it. Good speakers or headphones are recommended

The deck of the barn? Like I said, you could carry serious speed through there. The big trucks would throw it sideways off the second jump so they could make the turn, they would be sideways almost all the way to the gravel pit. I miss that sh$t (my back doesn't). The rush would stay with you for hours!

No I was sitting pretty much straight across from the timing shack. That's pretty damn cool that you were able to be a racer.
