Just got home; Turns out that I overfilled the coolant the other day, with predictable results, so I've gotta fix that (I popped the cap off the reservoir)...

 

Lol. Did that on my civic a couple years ago. Yea messy !

 

I pulled into my driveway after driving over 125 miles from Carlisle without any problems, and I heard this gurgling from under the hood that I'd never heard before; I popped the hood and was greeted by what you see in the pictures above. I thought that the radiator had blown, but the truck had not overheated even at 80+ MPH on the turnpike with the A/C cranked and the coolant reservoir was ABOVE the "FULL" line; I started the truck back up and the temp gauge went a bit higher than normal briefly but immediately return to its normal level...

I used a medicine dropper to empty excess antifreeze into a washer fluid jug, and currently idling in the driveway with the A/C on; That scared me for a bit!

I did find a gem in the swap meet section of the show today; How about a 1996 Taco RC 4x4, with V6, 5-speed, factory power windows, etc?!?!

 

Running fine!

I live right across the street from a point of interest.

I remember that gurgle well, my 88 Chevy Celebrity did it except it really was overheating..fan motor busted.

 

It will be worth the wait, I promise; I acted on a tip from the owner of a 1981 Corolla at the SteelStacks Cars & Coffee this morning and drove to a JDM car meet at none other than Raceway Park, where I hit the motherload! 1981 Toyota Starlet, 1995 Toyota Century, and numerous vintage Corollas!

 

Forgot to mention that I hit 153K on the drive home from Carlisle last night...

 

How was the cruise control ? Any issues ? And any camaros ?

 

Cruise control worked fine, and plenty of Camaros, but I only take pictures of ones I find particularly unique. There were a lot of 3rd Gens there, and I got pictures of both a 1989 Yenko tribute and the very last Camaro off the line at the Norwood plant in 1987!

 

Yeah, mine didn't overheat at all; 80+ MPH on the turnpike on almost 90 degree heat with the A/C cranked!

 

That is quite rare, think they only offered that combo for a couple years.

 

Good stuff, yeah my rig hasn't done that yet. I remember my Monte Carlo I had as a teenager overheating from being in traffic running the air full tilt
