Going to try HyperDip on my aluminum skid. It's held up pretty well on my back bumper so far. I spray a scratch protectant on it every wash which I think helps. Just didn't jive with the factory skid color.

Pardon the dumpy garage. You folks with nice garages are fortunate!

It's a 2 beer job so far but there are several coats to go yet. It's Friday!!

Last weekend did this awesome off-roading trip in Colorado. 150 miles of dirt in 2 days with 2 medium trails and one hard trail. By the end there’s some sort of noise. Can’t quite place it. Get home and it’s louder. What the fuck dammit. Wheel bearing? I just replaced those! CV? Nope. Loose fucking bolt in the hub assembly. Guess I didn’t locktite that last time.

    Dumbass :anonymous:

    not sure
Whichever one comes in their reverse kit
I didn’t pick and choose pods; they sell and market it as a kit designed for reverse lights including harness

only difference was I mounted it in a different spot

Step one of harness installation. Realize that patches also attach to carpets as well as headliners.

I had Best Buy install my head unit with a dvd player and they made it to where I can watch a dvd anytime. I just have to put the trans in reverse and then back to park. Then I can watch my movie.

Do you have a link for your stereo and do they have one that fits a 2015?

Check out dasaita.com and they're also pretty heavy on Amazon and ebay.

    This and that...
Finally updated the head unit. Very happy with it. Noticeable sound improvement and output with factory speakers. Apple CarPlay was the biggest motivation.

Went the extra mile and got the Maestro RR so I can have tire pressure and temp on the dash along with transmission temp. With a camper it’s good info to have on the fly. The TPMS is slightly off from my electronic tire gauge, 3-4 psi, but will still be able to tell if there is a slow leak since I run them in the 50’s with the camper.

You have to use the aftermarket mic, but I hate extra crap on the dash. Fortunately found it to fit in the factory mic spot and works great.

Factory backup cam is anytime which made my mod obsolete. (This guy sold these transistors here that worked great on the factor harness).

I retained all the steering wheel controls and with the Maestro was able to reprogram all the buttons with a some set to vehicle info.

If you use XM it gives you more options than the factory like more presets and the ability to see the title better. It also has the go live feature if you replayed a song.

I thought about adding a second cam, which this has the option, to the front or underneath, but don’t think it’s needed. Would be cool to have when getting the tires on leveling blocks, but also seems a bit too fancy.

Had to get a second dash mount since the one that Crutchfield included had some large gaps around the head unit. Sourced a Scosche from Amazon that fit better that was an open box special. I do have the Metra bezels coming in to fill the gaps on the first. I may switch since the Scosche clips aren’t super tight. Hard to notice though. Update: I just wrapped some electrical tape around the clips and its nice and snug.

All in all it got a little pricy but well worth it since I’m planning to keep this truck for a few 100k and I’ve only put 30k on it in 5-6 years. All the other features are great on this unit too and the responsiveness of the screen is great. Good review here.

Edit: Be sure to ground the e-brake wire, using a switch does not work. This will give you full access to all the screens while driving.

@Voltron4x4 I am waiting for my obd2 bluetooth from AZN arriving today to get my torque going. Not sure how many feeds I will get in a 2008 but anxious to see. I have the prewired hookup for a front anytime camera with dvr so looking for a front camera.

Which coating did you use? My truck is due for a coating again. I used cquarts uk 3.0 last time. Worked great

    This and that...
In case you need it for some reason, they do make a OBD splitter. I’m using one to also power my dash cam.
