That's pretty cool. I've never been a power mod kinda guy(on cars/trucks......I've done a few to motorcycles), so all this is new.

I just bought the truck not exactly sure of the mods.
I’m done for now. Going to take the platform out for now until l get the
soft-topper or when we get stretch’s off nice weather and it won’t get messed up. I got a set of drawers and I’m going to attempt to have a 4 1/2ft pull out, but that’s on down the line. For now I’m planning to hit the 601-602 trail in the near future ( like Aug). It’s being put off just because I started a new job closer to home.

So is there a kit to make the LS swap compatible with the Toyota dash and all the other electrics? I thought I remembered reading a LS swap thread where that was an issue......or maybe I'm just making shit up again

I haven’t seen anything off the shelf that integrates the GM system completely with Toyota’s. It can be custom made but I think most people are using a standalone system like Holley to control the swapped engine.

Does the holley dash look like it belongs, or does it look like it was cobbled together?

It’s designed for a simple swap like a drag racer would want. It’s probably not what you are looking for.
If you really want a clean swap you have to get into canbus translation. That’s where you basically program an intermediary computer to translate the engine’s ECM frequency signals to the frequencies the vehicle computer is looking for.

I’ve been looking into swapping a Tundra turbo into my IS250 and maybe my taco for a while now.

No it's a big flat screen digital dash thing. So depending on how much time you spend making it look nice and factory is up to you. https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/gauges_and_displays/lcd_displays/

Haltech also is a good system.

Once you go to different platforms making stuff communicate together gets harder especially the newer the vehicle. Like I bet if I took the time I could get mine to communicate because it's a lot older and doesn't have but a few computers and no real CAN bus to worry about with communication between systems. Then new new stuff that gets very complicated which is why Holley, Haltech and others are coming out with these universal ECUs that you can customize for pretty much any engine for swaps and stuff.

2J is a beast but it’s nearly 40 year old technology. From what I know about the V35A it has potential to be the new hot rod engine and figuring out the canbus translation could be quite profitable in the future.
