Hi, I am looking for a plug and play wiring harness to use for my front turn signals to add load resistors for LEDs. I don't like the idea of splicing into the wires. Any help would be appreciated.

I do have some connectors inbound with the VLED resistor plugs. But they come bundled with the SR5 OEM LED conversion harness so that would be my recommendation.

That sounds like what I am looking for. How will I know when they are available?

    Explain your usage perhaps?

Looking to replace all bulbs with LED. I have already replaced all interior bulbs, license plate, side marker, 3rd brake & headlights. I will be ordering the Meso Customs stage 1 tail light kit for the rears. That leaves the front turn signal bulbs. I have so far replaced all bulbs without splicing or tapping into the factory wiring. I'd like to replace the turn signal bulbs without splicing or tapping any OEM wires as well. Since I have an SR5 resistors will be needed for front and rear turn signals.
Also I should mention I am looking to use the VLED LED TURN SIGNAL HYPERFLASH FIX VLR-6 for the front turn signals. I have heard these are a good option.

I’d recommend OEM LED instead of led bulbs in a halogen projector. Doesn’t seem like you are price sensitive based on what you describe.

I’d try the MESO plug and play resistors in the total tails first. Cheap and done.

But, mostly, you want @Puppypunter to weigh in on options and best choices.

If you’re getting the Meso stage 1, then just get the VLEDS 15 ohm kit for 20 bucks. It will plug right into the Meso switchback and is enough resistance to satisfy the hyperflash. You do not need a 6ohm resistor for every bulb replacement like in other vehicles.

in my testing I have determined the Tacoma to be different from other vehicles. most vehicles monitor the amount of current being drawn per side of the vehicle and hyperflash when the amperage draw is less than X amount. The Tacoma does not seem to follow this. Instead, the Tacoma seems to be happy as long as current is being drawn from each of the three areas per side of the vehicle. In other words, as long as the front, mirror, and rear turn are each drawing something, it’s happy. Mirror may not be important, I’d have to unplug to see.

Where I came up with this is based on the fact that I run LEDs up front and the Meso switchbacks rear. The only time I have ever had hyperflashing was when the turn signal was on in reverse. Since reverse is the white, or “constant” power side of the switchback bulb, I believe when you’re in reverse the power goes to the white side and when it senses signal for turn signal, it powers the turn signal off of the unused white side reverse power and blinks it at the rate it sees the turn signal from the vehicle side. Thus, your rear turn signal is showing no draw when you’re in reverse and as a result the computer hyperflashes the turn signal.

My setup is happy as is. If I unplug the front, it hyperflashes. Any led will keep it happy in my experience, it doesn’t need to be a certain amount of power draw. It just wants to see that something is pulling power up there.

Long story short, just get the plug and play VLEDS 15ohm resistors, tie them into the Meso switchbacks and you will be just fine in all conditions. You do not need to stress out about putting a resistor at every turn bulb, there’s simply no need.

Is this true for the SR/SR5 Tacoma's as well? I know they require resistors where the TRD models do not for some installs. I ask bc I see you have a TRD Tacoma. Thanks

I’m still not 100% sure how SR/SR5s work but someone yesterday said that with LEDs up front and Meso out back, he only had hyperflash in reverse with the signal on, so it sounded like his works the same as the TRDs.

That's strange. I guess it all depends on what else they have setup. You said you are running the VLEDS 15ohm resistor (VLR-15) and it is plug and play with the Meso stage 1 tails? I may go this route too, I was waiting for Meso to restock the 10ohm resistors before purchasing but if the VLEDS resistors work just as well, I may grab a set.

Yes, I’m running the 15’s. Meso 10’s would pull a bit more current than 15’s. If you want to err on the side of caution, VLEDS might have a 10 ohm kit as well. Not sure.

I don’t think it matters whether it’s an SR/SR5 or TRD. I can’t confirm that for sure but it seems they all work the same.

The difference is like 0.2A draw between the two so it won’t really matter which you go with. The 15ohm would do slightly less heat and draw.

I’m a little confused. OP, are you wanting to replace the halogen bulb for the front turn signal light with a LED one? If so, I did this by simply swapping the bulbs, no resistors. But maybe I’m missing something.

Yes. After I replaced the bulbs with LEDs when I use the turn signals they hyperflash.

Do you already have the Mesos in?

That’s what’s confusing me because mine never hyper-flashed, so I’m not understanding why yours do.
