I want one, they look really nice. They make replacement blades and chip breakers for the stanley planes. I have been debating going ahead and replacing them on the jointer plane.
Just none of the blades are even close to worn out, or pitted. I know the thickness increase will help.

I have a bunch that I use. I fell in love with the old bedrocks. They are really solid planes.

100 degrees and sore shoulders from sanding means I’m taking an evening off. Need to make some cradles for it so I can rotate it 90 degrees and get the power sander on the sides. Making some progress though. Also got my trim wood worked out. Ash inwales for strength and because the seats get hung from there. Basswood exterior gunwales to save some weight and match the ash pretty well. Kiaat for the decks, and a few old paddles from my dad to sand down and varnish. Might be crunched on timing to get seats built. Considering cheating and buying pre made ones online.

I really like my woodriver 62, but I have to admit the lei nielson is much prettier.

What I like best about Lie-Nielsen (other than being made in America) is that every single plane I've gotten from them came ready to use, in perfect adjustment right out of the box. No adjustment or fettling needed whatsoever.

I've only bought the one, but yes that was my experience as well. I do plan on purchasing the 102 to replace my old ebay bought Stanley. I dont use the 62 often so the small 102 will be perfect for use on all the smaller projects I am always working on.

Here’s a plane everyone that’s into planes should have. I love using a tool that functions as good as it did nearly 150 years ago!

Dando set to width of the inlay. Just glued them fast. It's going on the exterior of a door to hold the glass in. The plastic stuff warped and broke in the sun. It was getting hit with direct sunlight. A deck and roof have since been added so the door isn't exposed to direct sunlight.

15 hours deep into sanding this thing overall? You can really see where the orbital sander no longer fits, debating buying a detail sander or just roughing it out tomorrow by hand. Got my decks glued up though, and scarfed together some 7/8x3/4x18’ pieces of ash for the inner gunwales. I’m guessing those two pieces weigh as much as the entire canoe right now.

Made a moxon vise today. Quarter sawn curly maple back, curly ambrosia maple front. 40$ hardware kit from Amazon.

Also made a fish trap with my daughter Zola and drove down into the creek with my kick butt tacoma. Started the process of teaching her about manual transmissions, and she helped me in the woodshop.
Mama and the other kids went the amusement park, but she wanted to spend the day with me.20220625_203639.jpg 20220625_203652.jpg 20220625_162747.jpg

The ugly board was for trying to teach my wife to use a chisel without cutting off and flesh.
