Don’t know for sure but would suspect a good ole assembly line.

You got me thinking about Russians coming over for training during the Shuttle years…

Found this nugget about the ASTP:
    https://www.nasa.gov/feature/45-years-ago-apollo-soyuz-test-project-crews-train-in-the-us

Haven’t found stuff on the mid to later Shuttle years yet but I’m thinking cosmonauts must’ve come over early on for training for Shuttle/MIR (link is to the Wiki page).

    To summarize:
Shuttle/MIR was the first phase of International Cooperation with Russia in Space. Atlantis had a custom docking and was the only Shuttle to dock with MIR.
STS-60 was the first Shuttle mission to include a cosmonaut, STS-63 the second- this one rendezvoused with MIR. All the remaining missions in the program docked to MIR. Later STS-71 brought the first all Russian MIR crew (3) to the station. STS-84, -86, -89 and -91 all included cosmonauts in the Shuttle crew.

I think since the start of building the ISS (second phase) - Star City in Russia has all the US component mock ups so no need to come over here for training.

I wish my memory was better - the book Dragonfly listed below is there because I mentioned it in this thread. Good read, might have to pick it up again.

    That's pretty cool.

But, I kinda meant the cosmonauts coming to the US for access to space.

I guess it took 7 successful crewed flights within a couple of years to convince them it was safe.

The fact that it'll still arrive on the same day despite a ~30 day launch window is bananas to me! I don't fully understand orbital mechanics but I'm assuming the later in the window requires more midcourse corrections?

It’s got a crazy route to get there. Multiple earth orbits increasing it's apogee each orbit until it is captured in the moon's gravity well.

Yeah it's crazy but makes sense from a DV value. If time isn't a concern why not go that route?

Those aren't instantaneous windows on 6/29 and 7/7.
    6/29 SES-22 has a 1703-1913 window and Starlink 4-21 window is 0901-1041. My schedule shows Crs-25 pushed until 9/1.
