Source for the light bulbs behind the heater controls?

I have a bulb that is burned out behind the heater/AC control panel. I can't find a source for those tiny little bulbs.

Any ideas?

 

I replaced mine last year, I don't remember being able to find them anywhere other than the dealership. They're not cheap.

 

I buy mine at Napa #74 off the top of my head I always have them on the shelf.

Maybe with Supply Chain issues they are hard to find.

 

Knowing what to call things helps with Google
Sylvania 2721 or 2723. 2723 is brighter.
T5 is an LED equivalent.

 

Are the LEDs dimmable?

but your link should work too. It's just a 74 mini wedge light. You can get these at your local auto store.

 

Very useful info here. At least one of these or the instrument cluster bulbs are burned out on every Tacoma I get!

They dim fine, but not as dim as the original incandescent bulbs.

I used the 74 mini wedge LEDs for the indicator bulbs in the instrument cluster but ended up going back to the stock incandescent. The LEDs tend to leak current and some would be lit slightly even though they were off which was really annoying. I’ve had similar issues retrofitting other older vehicles with LEDs. They can cause some strange behavior.

But the main reason I switched the indicator bulbs back to incandescent was the LEDs are just way too bright in that application. They look awesome at first when swapping them out in the driveway at 2 in the afternoon but on a dark road, turn on the high beams and that high beam indicator on the dash was like a flashlight directly in my face. Same with the turn signal indicators.

 

Be careful where you get them. I replaced mine with cheap Ebay LEDs that only lasted about a month. I only had 1 incandescent burned out to begin with but replaced all of them meaning all my work was rewarded with 3 burned out bulbs instead of just 1.
