Man I'm almost over it due to the games the dealership has played.

Finally got my truck on Saturday after a 6 1/2 month wait! Still can't believe it is mine! Here is my timeline...

12/11: Made request and placed $1k deposit for a LR Trail at my local dealer.
3/4: Received allocation for Week 13 build.
4/29: Truck built (four weeks late), temp VIN stopped working, perm VIN showed up on dealer's website a few days later, status changed to 'F' in V-spec.
5/10: Left San Diego via train en route to Chicago/Logistics Park.
5/23: Placed on QC hold (while still in transit).
    5/27: Arrived at Logistics Park.
6/24: Status changed to 'G', received call from dealer later that day.
6/25: Finished purchased process and drove her home!

I was fortunate to have a local dealer that was charging MSRP with no add-ons or BS. Purchase process was easy. The waiting part was HARD!
Kudos to @Rod03 for all of his help keeping us sane on this forum. I bought him a beer a while ago but I'll be buying him a few more!
    Some other things I learned...

When comparing people's experiences/timelines, it's important to know which plant their truck is being built and where the truck is going. Baja California plant (M as seventh digit from the end of VIN) ships from San Diego by train to pretty much anywhere in the country (unless you're local, then just a semi). Guanajuato plant (T as seventh digit from the end) takes a boat ride from Veracruz, MX to a Gulf port and ships by train or semi from there. These seem to have vastly different timelines.
Some of it is chance. You could get tagged with a production delay or QC hold like I did, whereas others seem to get their trucks without any issues. If you're not picky about color/options, you might be able to find one coming in soon that another buyer backed out of. I had to wait longer because I was less flexible.
I was initially using V-spec to check status changes from A to F to G, but eventually found out about Toyota Tracker (www.toyota-tracker.com), which was way easier to use.
The Toyota app never worked for me. I don't know why. I've heard it doesn't work for some people. So I never got door lock/unlock notifications and tire pressures. I have an Android phone.

Best of luck to all of you and thanks for the help! Here are some pics. One is right after the truck arrived at the dealer and my daughter was obviously super-excited for me! Second is after clean-up and taking it home.7461~2.jpg IMG_20220626_071516416_HDR~2.jpg

Thanks @sdiver. Yes, finally got her on Saturday! Purchase process was a breeze. Really grateful that Pauly did not play games.

meant to mention, the salesman I spoke to at this dealership said there were only 5 of these trucks built in the entire country (TRD Off Road, Manual, Lunar Rock), and he was using it to justify the price hike.
Is there a way dealers can access this type of detailed info? I figured he was BSing me.

This is correct, Toyota dealers can see the entire allocations system.

Thanks! I might lurk a bit longer tho. As frustrating as it has been, I actually enjoy these interactions quite a bit and like seeing everyone's updates.

Definitely congratulations. Just this weekend I was thinking to myself “an army green or Lunar Rock Trail Edition is probably the best Tacoma anybody can buy right now”. Epic truck.

Good vibes. My dealer just texted and told me the QC hold is off and the truck has a ETA of 6/25-6/30.
I hope many others get similar texts/calls today.

Does anyone know how often vehicles get picked up and loaded onto the rail cars? My camry was built on 6/15 so 12 days since and hasnt been put on a rail car but seems some people got it shipped after 2 weeks. Hopefully I'm close. Crossing fingers

@Rod03 Thanks so much, man. To clarify, you said it’s showing a process date of 6/4? (even though that’s in the past and the same date it was built?)

Sending more beer your way… Anyone else who wants to do so, here’s the link:
