Front Coilsprings rubbing UCA joint

    I recently installed my new suspension (bilstein 5100's with eibach coils) and ever since I've been experiencing a rough CLUNK everytime i'd go over a speed bump or something of the sort. I took a look at my spring today and all the paint has been worn off the spring from where it rubs the uca. Any tips on how I can stop this?

    Yea, lower the settings on the bilsteins... What are they set at? They shouldn't be set at ANYTHING BUT 0.

    If you have the right Eibachs, they say you get 3" out of the springs with the 5100's set at 0 (bottom clip position)

    Any pics of install woukld help greatly just my $.02 ;)

    Just checked the bilsteins, Seem to be the right ones with the clip setting all the way at the bottom. And yes, I'm almost positive it's the ball joint on the control arm that's rubbing the spring

    If you truely want that eliminated, get new UCA from total chaos or camburg.

    Was/is there an issue of the Eibachs, or rather the UCA ball joints rubbing on coils ?? I read up a bit on the Eibachs w/5100's & never saw it mentioned... just wondering...:notsure:

    yes spring is seated correctly. Just went outside to take some pics but I seem to have lost the cable to connect my camera to my laptop haha. I only hear the clunk over bumps and such other than that it rides fine

    King 2.5" extended travel coilovers with compression adjusters, Camburg UCA's, King 2.5" rear shocks, TRD 1st gen CAI.
    before i got Camburg uca's, my stock uca's would hit the sides of my 3" OME coils at full droop... not sure if thats the same problem OP is having, but aftermarket uca's solved my problem

    The spring perch should look like a bell when installed correctly. It's very easy to install it upside down.

    I think the UCA's & LCA's on 1st gens are alot diff. config than 2nd gen. but at full droop guess it may not matter, but there again you have the EMU's & he has the Eibachs, if it makes any difference anyway...not sure...:)
