Signal Peak is good to go, I'd still skip the mud pit and go on the slabs, and the easy way is open (it was closed by PGE last year). Only thing you'll be dodging Razers going down hill if you go too late during the weekend.

The bypass of the bypass, skipping the mud pit and rutted out section:

Thanks man. I got the same exact tires at Moto fyi, they were the only ones in stock. I trust the 64.4lbs of rubber so far, no more C rated tires for me after that one time :)

Finally took the time to take my HAM license technician test today. After July 1st they will update the test. I found a test site in Berkeley and crammed my ass off. Took the test.. Passed.. Haha..

Decided to go for the General... Might as well keep going. They have app for all this now.. So much easier to study..

Rethinking this weekend's Central NV trip due to heat. Don't know if a pivot to Modoc NF or Fremont Winema NF will be any better weather wise and most likely more crowded. What do yall think?

    Replacing LCA bushings

    20220702_121138.jpg

Welding behind the alignment tabs (so I can't flatten them out.

    20220702_102554.jpg

Replacing my alignment cam bolts with cam eliminators, and much stronger bolts.

    20220702_105851.jpg

    Installing LCA skids.

    And re-booting the CVs

Anyone who's ever drilled these f'n holes with a hand drill, certainly has my respect... because those were an m'f'er with my drill press.

Why are you drilling the LCA?

Because I have these BAMF LCA skids @Kwikvette gave me.

I got them for free... and since I'm one of those "cheap assed 1st Genners that don't spend money on my truck" I figured it would be fitting that the only thing on my truck from BAMF, I got free 99

    Gunna wear em like scalps.

Until the LCA reinforcement plates from @eimkeith are available again... (which are 100000X better, and more useful) and I put those on.

Now it makes sense. I never bothered with skids for the LCA's and after wheeling most of the harder trails in CA they aren't that much worse for the wear. They are possibly the only piece of OEM suspension that I haven't broken. lol
